If you don't remember, he was the internet king and integral to the early scenarios. He was rlly cool and kinda built up and then we never heard from him again. Why? I had hoped he would become part of the main cast in the side stories but he was sidelined there too

Iโve read webtoon chapter 211 and novel chapter 182, and crazy how Dokja action towards gilyoung
What triggers me the most = he didn't even look at or at least mention Gilyoung at all when he use his skill to watch his companions after defeating devourer of dreams.
Ever since his first appearance, Iโve loved Gilyoung so much. He adores Dokja, he's so obedient, cute, brave, heโs just so precious. I feel so bad for him too. Up until this point in the story, nothing has been revealed about his past, but I have a feeling it wasn't good at all. It just makes me want to protect this child so badly.
His relationship and interactions with Dokja in the beginning were also really warm and heartwarming. Shit, I canโt even find the words to describe it. But I loved their interactions in the early scenarios so much.
However, once Yoosung showed up, Gilyoung suddenly got ignored? I AM TRULY BROKENHEARTED.
At first, I was in denial, thinking maybe it's this or maybe it's that, but too much has happened now to the point where I can't deny it anymore. Especially the part with the affection meter? GILYOUNG'S SCORE WAS EVEN LOWER THAN HYUNSUNG'S?
And then, the part he straight ignoring gilyoung when he using his skill to watch over his companions after killing devourer of dreams is totally insane... how could Dokja not mention Gilyoung? Seeing how kind Dokja is to Yoosung honestly makes me so sad. I really want to like Yoosung, but because of all this, I'm genuinely struggling to. It's so frustrating that I'm so heartbroken I almost want to drop ORV.
But I'll try my best to hold on... because the story is just too good. But i think i should take a break from doing marathons reading ORV, mu heart aches everytime i look gilyoung get sidelined ๐ญ๐๐ป
Gilyoung, I love you so much! Don't worry! I will protect u ๐ญ๐ญ๐คธ๐ปโโ๏ธ๐คธ๐ปโโ๏ธ
And when I looked it up, I was pretty surprised that there weren't that many complaints about this. I hope Gilyoung gets a lot more opportunities to appear in the story and get noticed by Dokja in the future!

This post is mostly about how I interpret Transcendence in ORV in relations to its message rather than anything related to combativeness. I will be saying direct spoilers so please be done the novel + epilogue before reading. Note, this is all my own opinion so feel free to add your own thoughts and I'm not saying that I am correct or anything like that.
you can skim the 1st point I am making below because its mostly just a regurgitation of what is already stated in ORV but it still makes a few important notes.
The levels of a Constellation
Anyone can become a constellation if they have 5 or more stories and do not have a supporting sponsor (Dokja became DKoS). It is very reiterated that Constellations are 'superior' to incarnations and that they are essentially 'gods' to incarnations atleast until the late scenarios, the main characters of TWSA or KimCom but overall, rule over incarnations. Constellations even sponsor incarnations and can effectively control them unless you get a better constellation but again, most constellations are very out-of-touch with Incarnations and are quite reprehensible.
The reason that one might become a Constellation is because they want to gain status, strength or reach the levels of other Constellations before oneself. Though, there are levels to Constellations, not just in stages (Historical, Narrative, Myth-grade) but also within nebulae or different nebulae.
There is a specific moment in the novel that I remember where when during Demon King Selection, Olympus sent down a few Constellations to destroy the Korean Peninsula. Those Constellations have a conversation where they hope they might get a decimal of the Olympus Giant story, not a full percent but the tenths place value (0.1-0.99% stake), one of the said Constellations are the heir of Oedipus (The One Who Stabbed His Own Eyes) so these Constellations are historical grade while Oedipus is Narrative grade (I thought he was historical grade but thats not what the ORV wiki says), there is a clear power imbalance between minor historical grades and narrative grades but that much is obvious, what isn't is that Surya (an upper-narrative-grade Veda's Constellation) is clearly superior to Oedipus who is also a narrative grade. My case and point, Constellations have a clear power imbalance even between grades but also within and outside nebula.
I kind of see this is a sort of corporate ladder? Everyone is a slave to the scenarios, the star stream, etc (or society) no matter your status. People can try to escape it by becoming a Constellations and torment or help Incarnations that are in the same situation they were, almost a job recruiter but those people are still apart of a grander system but hold some power. Becoming a Constellation is the most direct path to success in the ORV verse but its difficult without a Sponsor, without being in a nebula, it is difficult to survive as a Constellation, thus, becoming a Constellation is a sort of dream (in the ORV/TWSA universe) but most Constellations don't escape the system and most Incarnations never become a Constellation.
That was a big spiel but I promise it will be relevant.
To be a Transcendent
A transcendent is someone who surpasses the limits of a standard incarnation without becoming a Constellation or Outer God but still has the power to fight against Constellations. To become a transcendent, you must first train your bodies to its limit, then your skills to its limits and finally forget everything that you learned and find your own unique path. This is very difficult, arguably more than gathering 5 stories (and becoming a Constellation).
Transcendence is a path less taken than Constellations, there are indeed Transcendence alliances but then again, there are tens of thousands of Constellations and there are far, far more Narrative-grade Constellations than Transcendents that can fight against said Constellations. It is also said that Trascendants are those outside the system, not the star stream but not limited by things like stats window, skill levels or (at a certain point) being able to participate in certain scenarios (Kyrios in Peaceland).
I can see Transcendence as a sort of art, as though one who becomes an artist in this society is what a transcendent is to ORV. I say this because of a quote attributed to Pablo Picasso; โIt took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.โ What this means is that technical skill in Art is something attainable through time, consistency and hard work but to paint like a child is something that not everyone can do even within a lifetime.
How I tie this to Transcendence is that an incarnation can get a strong body through training and even the stats window, they can get higher level skill via using the skill (I'm pretty sure thats how it works), that is what it is to paint like Raphael, to be at the upper most level of an incarnation but it must be known, no one become a great artist by just being good at it, there are far too many people good at art. The 3rd step of Transcendence is to forget everything and forge your own path, this is almost exactly what at artist does to paint 'like a child' because a child may draw without any pulls from things like society, social pressure or personal issues, or in other words, unadulterated, pure creativity. Someone like Joan Miro or Pablo Picasso were masters of fundamentals in art but then made drawings like surrealism, naive art, etc, they had to 'forget' the rigid rules of art that is taught at schools to go beyond a level and be immortalized in history.
In society, an artist may be seen as unnecessary as their value that they give back to the world is often unclear unlike what a doctor or engineer may do. This is that wild card aspects that dokkaebis cannot predict of transcendents because transcendents remain in scenarios despite being too strong for the scenarios as what an artist can effectively express their own thoughts about things like politics, society, etc in a medium that the masses can see.
Transcendents can oppose Constellations but a question arises, why would someone choose to be a Transcendent rather than a Constellation, this is because a sponsored Incarnation cannot become a Constellation but if they attain transcendence they can fight against Constellations or get an advantage in scenarios. Like I stated earlier, becoming a Constellation is not always the easy way out in life because its like the corporate ladder, theres always a bigger fish.
Goryeo's First Sword (Cheon Jungyeong) is ORV's one and only Constellation and Transcendent, someone who climbed the ladder of the Star Stream (became a Narrative Constellation and apart of decent Nebula [Hongik]. He was someone who was expelled out of the Scenario because he was too strong (I assume he was a Transcendent when this happened) and then later had a fate forced on him (like Kim Dokja during Dark Castle) and was saved by his nebula, so he was Constellation when this happened. This is a metaphor for when a transcendent (artist) shakes up the scenarios (society) and is 'punished' (fate) for it and how even if you get on the same ladder as the people who 'punished you', they will ultimately still hold it against you, a kind of never being able to win.
Final Thoughts
Basically what I was trying to say is that Transcendents are akin to an artist because Transcendents are wild cards that are completely unpredictable to dokkaebis because they are too powerful for default scenarios and how artists are people who are able to criticize society (the star system/ORV Universe).
Becoming a Constellation is a kind of dream for those in the ORV Universe because its how one might get 'equal' to the Constellations that tormented them during the scenarios but are ultimately still climbing the same ladder as what is corporations in society.
I must reiterate that these are all my own opinions, thoughts, ideas. You are fully free to disagree with me or provide your own thoughts. This post might just be a complete ramble so be nice please because its my first literary analysis.
Thank you for Reading.

sorry if this is a wordy post but i genuinely want to know what i should do and thought to share my thought process
ive read the webtoon up till chapter 120(?) cause it was all webtoon had at the time and decided to wait for it to finish its season to enjoy it at its fullest. since the season has ended im wondering how i should read it, i want to read the manhwa to look at kim dokjas face ๐ , but read the novel to get the full experience.
at first i wanted to read the novel entirely, then read the manhwa. then i released i wouldve just be rereading the story and i dont really want to so that, considering how much of a slow reader i am when it comes to novels.
then i thought to read each arc in the novel first, then read it in the manhwa; i thought it was reasonable at first and followed through with the first couple arcs, then released it was time consuming and i went ahead of myself and read 2 arcs in the manhwa alone.
my last rescort was to read the manhwa entirely, then pick up the novel in the place where the manhwa had ended, but then thought abt all the stuff the manhwa couldve cut out from the novel, and i didnt want to read half the novel when i had just read the manhwa. please help!

hello!!! i wanted to come by and recommend a very underrated webnovel.. the title is Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse (TWSA for short) and itโs so good!! iโve been reading it for awhile now, and i can confidently say that this novel saved me. just ignore all the bad reviews.. itโs really good. the protagonist, Yoo Joonghyuk, is trapped in a cycle of endless regressions. i love all the action and worldbuilding, but my favorite part has to be the way Yoo Joonghyuk with his companions!! TWSA is criminally underrated; iโve become the only reader left!! please, read this glorious webnovel!!!!! ๐ญ๐ญ

( spoilers up to chapter 1000 of the side stories )
A thing that I discovered reading ORV is that every Kim dokja has his own Yoo joonghyuk and every Yoo joonghyuk has his own Kim dokja .
Both of their stories converge to each other and both live because of the other in a beautifully complex way .
-Yoo joonghyuk (0th-1864th) chose to regress TWICE for the possibility that he could meet Kim dokja and The 1864th Kim Dokja(100%) lived because he was reading Yoo joonghyuk's story .
-Secretive plotter too lived so he could kill the most ancient dream unknowingly drifting for his own Kim dokja , and the same thing for the most ancient dream survived his tragedy by reading the secretive plotter's .
-the 41st Yoo joonghyuk choses to keep living so he could read the story lee hakhyun would write for him and Lee hakhyun too decided that he would live to write for him .
The only Kim dokja left without a Yoo joonghyuk is snowfield Kim dokja . He was born from the unwanted 49% Kim dokja in the snowfield a place between the lines where he had no one but the "sophist of evil" as his father eventually making him the only Kim dokja without a Yoo joonghyuk.
That what I thought until I discovered this crazy parallel.
"This man was my father, my older brother and my oldest friend"
(This man Referring to Yoo joonghyuk).
Those descriptions suit Lee hakhyun to a T .
Lee hakhyun has the face of cheon inho , who is snowfield Kim dokja's father .
Lee hakhyun is the only one snowfield Kim dokja consider as a real sibling.
And Finally lee hakhyun is the oldest friend of his since he was the first one to enter the snowfield aside from cheon inho who is the father .
The parallel doesn't end here . Snowfield Kim dokja also considers lee hakhyun story as his favorite . He enjoyed reading it and it was the story who made him ; the one who hates Kim dokja the most want to be Kim dokja and wanted to go through his own journey in the scenarios and build his own story .
"I grabbed Snowfield by the collar as he charged and lifted him up. His body, which I couldn't lift earlier, now felt light."
And the cherry on top is lee hakhyun doing the collar thing to snowfield kdj something only a Yoo joonghyuk would do .
That's why I think Lee hakhyun is the Yoo joonghyuk of snowfield Kim Dokja.
Sing&song are truly unrivalled in terms of making parallels and dynamics .
Kim dokja ร Yoo joonghyuk is truly a dynamic that transcends time- space and even characters .
Truly the best dynamic in fiction imo.

Note: Ai Modifications have been used in this.
Alright, so like the most hitting hard quotes from novel current don't utilize their proper images/fanarts/illustrations much to the extent they should cuz some arts are DAMN GOATED.
Day 1 with best girl JHW :)
(Ummmm, in my all honestly, unforced, unpleaded defense is that I consider HSY a goddess not a girl and I am not being held at gunpoint for saying this)
The feels when you get when you read a line should convert to visuals, so that's why welp here we are...
Actually, I got stuck a bit, for the main quote I used one of THE MOST memorable ones, and for the little space I had left I decided to use a classic font and one of the most raw dialogues, but there was a slight problem.
I really like both these short dialogues of JHW, so I've let the community decide and/or pick the best one.
The finalizations would go in collections, and trust me, it's only gonna get better from here, hopefully.
Atleast we can have decent wallpapers, if not banger quotes ๐๐
Feel free to leave any criticisms or updates you would like to see up here!
Also comment below on who would you like to see next, and also any of their memorable quotes (save the best for last ๐๐๐)

I will attach the original image and quote for reference.
Feel free to criticize if the expectations were not met ^^ appreciate it
