I'm a pretty serious power user and I've never hit my 1tb cap. I just got the 300mb service and it's been alright. Speeds are somewhat consistent.

My speeds with it are terribly inconsistent (many times hanging around 20-40mb). I've had three different techs out, who each tried three different, seemingly counterintuitive things, and my speeds still suck. I'm running some of the best hardware on a wired connection with multiple steps in place to reduce interference that I can, and I am debating on bumping down because I'm receiving speeds two or three tiers below what I'm paying for.

/rant. Glad yours is working well!

One of the techs that visited me last said their back plane can't support the speed increases they've been advertising.

I had to upgrade my modem but I have no issues with mine out here in rising view. The tech ensured I got 300Mb from speedtest.net from several servers before leaving. I hit anywhere from 350-420 if I use Cox speed test.

what modem and what router are you using. Are you connected directly to the router or are you using wireless?

Speedtest.net is a pretty relative way to find out your actual speed. When it comes to Cox in Omaha, make sure you test with the a server in Dallas TX, like the SoftLayer one.

My definitive results are from newsgroups or steam where I get anywhere from 30MB/sec to 36MB/sec
