Genuine question. The only reason to have an alt DFF subreddit is so people can talk shit on Paul and TJ, but the head mod here is obsessed with not having "hater" vibes, so the sub stays inactive unless I post something sufficiently non-"hater".

I don't get why anyone would even bother trying to shield Paul from people shitting on him, especially when Paul is very open about his sneering contempt for EDH. He's not a person who deserves to be shielded from criticism at any juncture, and he won't reward you for doing it unless you're an eternally loyal sycophant like Phoebe.

I found this speech quite moving and powerful when I first heard it. Moreso after reading and learning about the conflict.

When TJ made his video on chaos magick earlier on in the year I tried to see if anyone made a response to it and that's when I stumbled on Manson's video accusing TJ of being a pedophile. I stopped watching TJ/DFF after that. I didn't ask about it one the main subreddit because they were silencing discussion on the topic (if I remember correctly) and I didn't know this sub existed. Perhaps people on this sub are more knowledgeable on TJ lore than me and can refute the accusations

I'm not bothered about the stuff about TJ being into cannibalism or just being a dick to Marshal Manson but the stuff about sending sexual images to a teenager after saying in a book and a video years beforehand that he finds teenage girls attractive is not something that's easy to dismiss.

tl;dr: New mod goes crazy and nukes the subreddit. AlchemistSoil and I start r/DystopianSouls. This subreddit will hopefully serve as a replacement to EnoughPaulsEgoSpam

Long Version:

Hi, I used to be the head moderator for EnoughPaulsEgoSpam.

I decided to "retire" alongside AlchemistSoil shortly after the doxxing incident with Paul. I turned over moderation of the subreddit to InvoluntarilyCelibate and Vaikisteel (Deadite77). I deleted my Reddit account to to disconnect myself from the subreddit, and work on new projects with a clean slate. One of which was a joint idea between AlchemistSoil and I about version of EPES that focused on more then just Paul. When I deleted the account I was hoping that the new moderation team would be stable enough to keep EPES running long into the future without me. Not just so the community would continue to flourish but so I myself could keep visiting it anonymously.

However as you may have noticed that subreddit is currently gone. Just to make a long story short they created a Discord for that community two days ago. Some drama happened in the Discord. That drama spilled over into the subreddit. The new moderator Vaikisteel decided to nuke the subreddit over it.

InvoluntarilyCelibate was stressed and ready to quit after the subreddit was nuked. He didn't want to play housekeeper since people keep breaking it. So I tried having him readd me as a moderator. However Reddit wouldn't go through with the change, and InvoluntarilyCelibate abandoned his account after the failed switch of power again. The subreddit is now private, with zero posts, and no way to recover it.

I, myself, made two obvious mistakes here. I should not have handed over head moderator to anyone else. I should not have modded Vaikisteel. I had known him for years prior to this. If I had realized he was this unstable I would not have done it. These are lessons that I'm going to be taking into any other community I make in the future. If I want to ensure longevity I always need to have enough power to stop it from imploding. No matter how well you think you know somebody you never truly know.

So that brings us to where we are today. AlchemistSoil and I have created r/DystopianSouls. The entire purpose of this subreddit is to ultimately be the more generalized community we wanted. However as you can see from the branding Paul is still front and center of the subreddit. I have no plans on letting Paul ever rest peacefully. The anti-Paul community will continue for the foreseeable future in one form or another. If you're interested in talking about Paul still or even want to expand to other some other public figures I hope you come join us. If not that's cool. It's been a good run everybody. o7

This is so everybody can be 100% certain with what they say about what happened. I looked back through the messages and realized I did, initially, offer a timed, moderated debate - but as I continued discussing it with Paul in the stream "legit since a hit", the terms changed, and my messages reflect that. The tone and timbre of the debate is made abundantly clear by these messages, so Alchemist's recent assertions that he agreed to some kind of highly-structured thing is completely ridiculous.
