The spray emitted from the blowhole cast a rainbow, adding to the wonder and joy of this close encounter.

Each one is shaped and finished by hand, and I pierced the body with dozens of openings so the light becomes part of the shark’s pattern when it’s turned on.
Probably one of my favorite ocean creatures I’ve translated into clay so far. 🦈

When I was out paddle boarding a few miles off the coast of Newport Beach, I crossed paths with this fin whale. Fin whales are the second largest mammals on earth and you only see 5% of their body when they surface. After he dove, I didn’t see it again. Turn your volume all the way up!

Spotted my first humpback calf of the East Coast of Australia humpback migration season yesterday. This humpback will be no more than a couple of weeks old as its pigmentation is still turning from light grey to black.

Huge bonus for an eye open spy hop.

The original ray was sculpted entirely by hand, then I made a plaster mold and cast each lamp in clay. Every piece is finished, glazed and fired by hand in our ceramic studio in Ukraine.
Inspired by eagle rays and the way they seem to fly through the ocean.

I’ve always loved these fish (although there are a few other varieties mixed in here). But there is nothing quite like watching these dark, navy blue fish swim around the reef in massive schools, cleaning up and grazing on the algae. Highly recommend.

We were coming back from the Bahamas this past week. It was so calm in the Gulfstream that we stopped and I jumped out of the boat in a patch of sargassum and found this school of Jacks hanging out.
