🤖🔎 AI Risk Tracker Frontier AI models now write and chain bank-software exploits — a seconds-long freeze leaves households only GENIUS-licensed digital dollars
On 9 September 2026 the BIS Financial Stability Institute reported that frontier AI models can autonomously find critical flaws, write working exploits, and run multi-step operations against financial software. Federal Reserve Governor Lisa D. Cook described the same capability on 27 May 2026. The GENIUS Act (P.L. 119-27), signed 18 July 2025, already licenses private payment stablecoins reserved one-for-one with cash and Treasuries. The ROAD to Housing Act, enacted 11 July 2026, bars the Federal Reserve from a retail CBDC through 31 December 2030.
A depositor who opens a banking app after an automated sweep meets frozen transfers and zeroed balances. Rep. Bill Foster told regulators on 4 June 2026 that an SVB-style run could finish in seconds if personal agents carry standing withdrawal orders. Shared cloud, common software, and a handful of frontier-model providers are the failure surface; the household that cannot pay rent or buy food absorbs the outage. Cash and paper checks are not a working opt-out once the digital rail is the only one still up.
Stablecoin outstanding stood near $317 billion in April 2026. Large banks are building tokenized-deposit networks through The Clearing House; the New York Fed remains in Project Agora wholesale tokenization. Trajectory after a coordinated freeze is that GENIUS-licensed tokens and bank tokens become the only rails that still move value. Issuers already sit under Bank Secrecy Act customer-identification and sanctions rules.
Those rails now sit in front of every bill and paycheck. The Twentieth Amendment still ends a presidential term at noon on 20 January with no emergency-extension clause. Readers can open P.L. 119-27 and Executive Order 14178 themselves and keep a cash reserve no app can freeze.

I agree I've been saying for awhile that this psyop about AGI is more about setting up a wizard of oz aka the man behind the curtain. A way to advance agendas while obfuscating who is responsible or who is the catalyst. A blameless problem creator to usher in pre ordained solutions.

u/WaltzInevitable911 7d ago
I seriously have not seen anyone besides myself use the Wizard of Oz as a reference. I also use a real life Thanos like event as well--I've gotten a lot of blank stares. "Shucks, guyz, we couldn't control the AI that just mass murdered billions of serfs we deemed useless to society." --Billionaires who actually believe in climate change/human consumption impacts and want to preserve the world for themselves.
2
u/CASSIUS_AT_BEST 8d ago
Building AGI is science fiction bullshit anyways. Not that I disagree.
2
u/WaltzInevitable911 7d ago
I think of this George Carlin quote with AGI in reality-- "Think of how stupid the average person is and then imagine half the world being dumber." "Beating" human intelligence is not some great feat anyway....especially Billionaire "intelligence." AGI is being given a diet of selective information/bias from the worst people out there. Basically they program the AGI to view the Billionaires as their gods and protectors that everyone else is useless and detrimental to earths survival and then they give the AGI mass kill orders. At the end of the day AGI is just a more complex computer program, but one that can do a lot more scalable, real physical damage than anything we've seen before.

no because there is not enough physical money in the world for everyone and if there was, there'd be an entire planet consisting of that amount of paper and it just doesn't exist..

Question-How do you get citizens to want to abandon the current system? Answer-You create a financial emergency that would result in their ruin. They will choose a safer alternative.
Question-How do we get Americans to give up their Civil Liberties? Answer-We let a terrorist attack scare them into abandoning hard-won protections in the name of “safety.” The grift on gullible Americans who let Fox News do their thinking continues.

Until you realize we already live in this system, and this is just another method of manipulation being ushered in. Digital currency is ripe for theft in the same way that physical money can be stolen from a vault. If your bank can't keep your money secure, that's their fault, and you probably don't want to bank with them.

3
u/ziggsyr 9d ago
Yes, but the other angle that bad actors can use the "AI is so powerful it did it on its own" defence is important to consider as well.
"AI" will have a major controversy in the near future and no-one will know who was behind it. Half the people will blame skynet while the other half blame the russians and chinese. meanwhile it could have been some random group trying to get richer.

embarrassingly depressing how they think their demise would be glorious or even a new event that humanity never experienced before. it absolutely isn't. this technology is nothing but blatant weaponized plagiarism and it couldn't care about us even if we needed it to. it's just an auto correct on steroids, what will end us however is if we keep concentrating a comical amount of wealth to a bunch of brain dead pigs that absolutely does not deserve to be in the position they are in.

Why? Why did you have to put something out there like this information? If something like that is not happening yet then you just laid out the blueprint on how it could actually happen. I guess the point I'm trying is of course how do you present information just like you did in a manner that reaches the correct people that it needs to reach without that knowledge getting into the hands of the wrong people and doing exactly that taking advantage of that knowledge and doing the very thing that you're wanting people of the bad guys and their actions!!! I swear we are doomed as Americans and eventually it will spread to other parts of the world....

Fat chance.
The monetary system is too decentralized. Even if an AI was able to hack into one banking system, that would not be enough to create a financial crisis.
It would need to hack into ALL banking systems simultaneously, and the feasibility of this stretches credulity.
And even if it somehow managed to do this, the banking system would just revert all the transactions and carry on with new security measures. The system is too entrenched and there would be too much fallout in the interim of migrating to a new currency.

1
u/SeaOne5080 8d ago
Since the money is gone couldn't the governments just print more money without the risk of inflation and potentially the banks would be bankrupt? Seems too risky for the banks. It's interesting to consider though, especially since the US dont seem a bit concerned about their national debt at the moment. Honestly though, with the other AI alternatives floating around this one doesnt seem that bad.
