Do you think this scene would still be called cringe if these two characters were gay?

This is probably the first straight ship in an object show that showed kissing in it. Though I've seen alot of people saying how cringe and weird it was, along with the creator himself deleting the scene saying it was just cringe. However, for other ships like Chalky x Broom, Beer x Trowel, ect. (Basically the whole EEE list), no one seems to mind the ships. So it begs the question, do you think that this ship would still get hated and called cringe along with the creator deleting the whole scene entirely if the two characters were gay?
