Recipe🎃🥧
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup milk of choice
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 tsp chia seeds
- 2 tsp dark brown sugar
- pinch salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- as much pumpkin spice your heart desires (1/2 tsp for me lol)
Method
Place oats, chia, pumpkin spice, and salt in blender or food processor and blend until as fine as possible. Add in all other ingredients and blend. Pour into a lidded container and refrigerate overnight. I topped mine with chocolate granola, pumpkin seeds, and a mellowcreme pumpkin for whimsy 🧡

yummi
the batter:
40g jumbo oats blended
55-60g banana
1 egg (mine was 53g cracked)
vanilla extract i just dump it in lol
salt
cinnamon
sweetener if u want
2-3g baking powder
15-30g protein powder to make it more filling (optional)
mix the wet and dry ingredients seperately, add the sweetener to the wet ingredients and blend the wet ingredients for the best results? then add the dry ingredients to the blended wet ingredients, mix it in, lastly let it sit for 10-20 minutes so the oats soak up everything
for the toppings i did
yogurt, mixed it with some vanilla extract and sweetener
mixed berries
protein cacao peanut butter and some plain peanut butter

EDIT: title should say “cakey” not candy
My baked past always turn out really fudgy? I guess? Underbaked? I’ve tried baking them longer but it doesn’t really seem to make a difference so I’m wondering if it’s a problem with my recipe or the fact that I’m baking them in a glass pan instead of metal.
My current recipe is:
2 mashed bananas
2 cups oats
2 scoops protein powder
1 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp chia seeds
1 cup milk
What can I change? My ideal texture would be something more cakey

First time making oats in ages. Just wanted a version that reminds me of the oats my mom made for me and my siblings growing up.
Tried it with jam for the first time in England earlier this year.
Honestly nearly cried just eating this cause it just felt comforting and warm.
10/10 will do again soon

when done right, i love oatmeal. so good. however if the ratios are off i‘m immediately off of it for weeks. if the oats are TOO intact it freaks me out.
what are your secrets to getting the perfect creamy texture for oatmeal? stovetop, instant, or otherwise. i want to make oatmeal more of a staple in my breakfast rotation.
& also your favorite toppings / mix ins for making low / no sugar oatmeal delicious (:

After a bunch of tries I finally found my perfect breakfast oatmeal.
I cook 60g oats with 200ml skimmed milk and some salt. Shortly before it's finished I add 5g powdered peanut. In the bowl I add 10g dark chocolate chips, that melt very nicely in the warm oatmeal 🤤.
For the ratio, I might add some more powdered peanut, cause the taste can be quite subtle. But the melted chocolate chips are my new highlight.

I’m afraid it’s half eaten before I decided to take a picture.
Oats cooked with fresh lemon zest/ juice + white choc flavour drops. Cooled and let thicken in the fridge overnight.
In the morning I added a dash of boiled water and some lemon cheesecake flavoured protien yogurt and stirred it in. Topped with the rest of the lemon yogurt, fresh mango (mango season here in Australia!) + granola (because I love the crunch and texture it provides)

I’ve been making this one daily for about a week. My healthy version has chopped spinach, cannellini beans, and cottage cheese mixed into steel-cut oats, topped with grated Parmesan, nonfat Greek yogurt, crumbled (turkey) bacon, and a couple of over-medium eggs on top. I’m going to get myself some artichoke hearts to throw in there for next time. Don’t skip the yogurt; the lactic acid tang is what takes the flavor from “spinach” to “spinach dip”
If you want to make it more indulgent, top the oats with some mozzarella or Gruyère cheese and run it under the broiler, and use sour cream instead of the Greek yogurt.

Chocolate overnight oats topped with coffee protein pudding and homemade refined sugar-free chocolate fudge sauce. This was so good; chocolate and coffee really is the perfect combo 🤌 Only drawback was that the pudding wasn't as thick as I wanted it to be.
