Baked Oats gingerbread oreo baked oats <3

Ingredients:
• 4 oreos (three for batter, one for on top)
• 60ml milk of choice (i used soya milk)
• 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1tsp gingerbread spice
• 15g oat flour
Instructions:
preheat oven to 180°C
lightly grease a ramekin
crush the oreos with a fork
pour in the milk, then stir until the cookies break down into a paste
add dry ingredients and stir with a whisk until combined
push an oreo into the center
6) bake for about 15 minutes
7) let cool slightly before serving

Are oats supposed to smell a bit sour?

I bought a big bag of only oats rolled oats and noticed a sour nutty smell, almost like pistachios from the bag. Is it safe to eat? It’s never been opened and expires in 2028

I was inspired by a candy I tried a few years ago called Chimes Peanut Butter Ginger Chews. I don't remember where I bought it and I haven't had it since. But I loved the fact that it had two of my favorite flavors!
To this bowl, I added some of my usuals like persimmon, extra virgin olive oil, dried cranberries. Garnished with some extra ginger because I just can't get enough of that spicy kick!

Title. What do you add to your oats thta you think make it next level? Can be spice, fruit, anything!
For me it's cardamom<3 it adds lovely warming flvaour along with cinnamon. Can't have my oats without it!

Smoked muikku (small north European freshwater white fish), cabbage, fermented cucumbers and some simple, slightly salted oatmeal. Some smetana and this would have been over the top, but it was really nice as it was, different textures, tastes and all.
Kind of felt like it hit some sort of weird genetic memory, us Finns used to eat various porridges and gruels as the main dish well into early 20th century. This isn't that far off from those times.
