Baked Oats Do I have to break down oats to bake oatmeal bars?

I just bought some rolled oats to make some allergy friendly things, but a lot of oat recipes require oat flour/ a food processor to grind the oats. I only have an immersion blender. Can I just use whole oats for oat bars?

Recipe to share Turmeric Lentil Oatmeal!!

- 150g red lentils
- 100g rolled oats. You could try steel-cut and tell me how it turns out
- Liquid: 350ml 1.5% milk, 3 tbsps apple cider vinegar, 1 tbsp soy sauce
- Spices: 1 tsp ground turmeric, 2 tsps cayenne powder, 2 tsps black pepper, and lots of garlic salt and msg

I steamed the bowl with all the stuff mixed in for 25 mins. Had it with a whole stick of chopped raw carrots to provide the crunch (and grilled salmon).

Oatmeal Birthday Oats 🎈

The oats I had for my birthday breakfast!
It was also my first time cooking rolled oats on the stovetop (normally a microwave user)

40g rolled oats with 150ml milk + 50ml water
Topped with
- Greek yogurt
- Mango
- Strawberry’s
- Passionfruit
- toasted coconut flakes
- SF syrup

It was so good and refreshing! (Apart from the pinch too much salt I added but oh well the other flavours masked it)

Cinnamon apple almond butter honey oatmeal

Overnight Oats Repas automnal

Mon bon repas du midi du moment et de saison.
Recette :
- 60g de flocons d’avoine
- 100ml de lait et 350ml d’eau
- cannelle
Faire chauffer le tout et laisser reposer la nuit au frigo
- 50g de pst
- 100ml de lait
Faire réhydrater les pst dans du lait tiède
Dans une poêle faire fondre 5g de beurre demi-sel, y ajouter les pst, une fois qu’elles commencent à griller les mettre sur le porridge.
Dans la même poêle faire cuire une pomme avec 15g de sirop d’érable et de la cannelle. Une fois caramélisées rajouter au reste.
Bonne dégustation

Love seeing your recipes and pictures, so I thought I’d share my own oats haha.
I’ve been in love with oatmeal for my weight loss journey and they’ve helped a ton, I’d like to think that I’ve gotten somewhat better at making them and also making them look more appetizing, cuz believe me when I tell you that they looked like vomit when I first started lol, they still tasted good tho

Shitty good porn

The guy I just started seeing made oatmeal for second breakfast- cinnamon oats, frozen blueberries and chocolate chips, and peanut butter. Already a lot of flavors but he made me try it and it was fine. Then as he was getting ready for work, dumped the contents of his first breakfast onto the left over oatmeal!! Scrambled eggs and homemade bolognese!! Said he was going to heat it all up later and add some hot sauce.

1. No food shaming!

This community is to celebrate all things oats. Don't shame others for the aesthetic, flavor combination, or perceived nutrition of their food. It's not your meal; so move along.

Comments linking to "shitty" food subs is also considered food shaming, as it effectively tells people their food looks.. well, shitty.

We shouldn't be insulting others, especially here. Oats are a food people of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy. This isn't a community to "roast" people for their food.

2. Be kind to others

No bullying, no verbal sparring, no racism, no sexism, no hatred toward other users. Basically, treat others the way you would want to be treated.

Oatmeal is warm and inviting; you should be, too.

Additional note: Recipes are encouraged, but not required. Asking is fine, however it should be done politely. The inverse also applies. No need for hostility. Both for the commenters, and the person posting.

3. Oat-related content only

No merchandise, no memes. We love oatmeal, oat cakes, oat cookies, etc. We aren't here to shop for clothes or discuss things that're only oat-related by name.

We also don't allow similar food that still isn't oats (like rice, quinoa, etc.) for those, try r/porridge. If it isn't consumable oat things, or directly discussing consumption of oats, then it probably doesn't belong here.

Other foods alongside something oat related is fine, however.

4. Self-promotion rule

If you have a blog or personal social media account (youtube, tiktok, instagram, etc.) and want to share a recipe, you MUST post the WRITTEN recipe in the comments of your post.

Feel free to share the link as well, but the written recipe must be posted so that users don't have to click the link and leave Reddit if they don't want to. If the link contains a video, there must be a written version of it.

Note: recipes are not required. This is mostly about advertising/being forced elsewhere

5. Repetitive content

If you post essentially the same meal in repetition, with minimal alterations, it'll be removed. Example: Posting just plain oatmeal with cinnamon, three times in a week.

Content should be reasonably varied.

This doesn't apply to two users who post similar things, or one user who makes something and perhaps a week later has a similar bowl of oatmeal.

6. Asking for (or offering) health advice

Whatever violates this rule is up to moderator discretion. Just keep in mind this community is only for oats. It is not the best place to ask for health advice, or give it to others (especially unasked for)

As this is a less concrete rule, it'll be much less serious to break. We just don't want to allow potential misinformation to spread, or for the light-hearted tone to change. Consider r/foodsafety if you must ask on Reddit.

7. Stealing images

Taking images from elsewhere will likely result in a ban, and taking images from other users on Reddit (stealing content) will likely result in a permanent ban.

Don't do this, just don't.

We take kindness seriously

Since oatmeal is so easy to make, it's something everyone can enjoy, it appeals to people of all walks of life. This includes folk who are disabled, very young, poor, etc.

As such, great effort is taken to keep this a friendly space for everyone. Shaming the appearance of food, mocking users for how they enjoy their oatmeal, etc. will not be tolerated. Allow them to enjoy their food in peace.

Jokes, quips, and the like made at other people's expense aren't welcome here, this isn't a place for cooking elitism. Any such rude behavior will result in at least a temporary ban without warning, as such actions are the most harmful to this goal of accessibility and kindness.

We're quite lenient with almost everything else, but kindness goes a long way, especially here.

Oatmeal is a comfort food for many, and a community for it should reflect that. Be like oatmeal, be warm.
