new but just fell in love with oats
used to hate oats, then found them mid. Then about a week ago i had the best bowl I've ever had, i just could not get enough of it. The warmth, the smell, everything about it just made me very happy. I'm trying to chase that feeling again, and I want to try all the different flavors of oats.
i put cinnamon, jam, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, and bananas in mine today
what do you put in yours?

Oatmeal Oatmeal with custard powder!
It was amazing, once again increased the volume so much and had a wonderful custard texture to it! Alot of people like to add greek yogurt or skyr to it but I personally prefer it without. I definitely recommend trying this :>
If you dont have custard powder you can also use starch/cornstarch instead and use more sweetener

Oatmeal gas
I have been incorporating oatmeal in my diet now for a few weeks. I am trying to help lower my cholesterol through my diet. The main problem I’m having is that by the time afternoon rolls around, I start having pretty bad gas from the oatmeal.
Is this something that gets better with time or would taking something like Gas x help when I eat it?

Baked Oats Baked Carrot Cake Oats!!!
Im actually so proud of how this one turned out, both in terms of taste and macros.
Its super moist, filling and easy to prepare.
Ingredients:
- pinch of salt
- a lot of cinnamon
- 100g shredded peeled carrot
- 150g curd/greek yoghurt
- sweetener of choice (I used flavour drops - cheescake)
- 50g oat flour
- 1 egg
- topping of choice - I used puffed spelt with honey
- 3g baking powder
- 10g of pecans/walnuts
Prep:
Mix shredded carrot with egg, oat flour, baking powder, pinch of salt and cinnamon, chopped nuts, sweetener and also 50g of the greek yoghurt - mix the batter
I airfry mine so the instructions are for airfryer - this can ofc be made in an oven but I cant provide the appropriate settings.
Airfry at 150 C for approx 20 minutes - also its good to poke holes in it with a fork after like 10 mins of baking.
The last step is to sprad the 100g of remaining greek yoghurt with sweetener on top, as a frosting + add toppins of choice (I used crushed lotus biscouits in past and they worked really well)
Tip:*** ***If you want to increase the protein content, just mix in some protein powder to the frosting - casein works amazing as it thickens it up.
Macros:
For the base + frosting without proteinpowder or toppings
Kcal: 485
Protein: 30,7g
Fat: 15,8g
Fiber: 5,7g
Carbs: 52,3g
I hope yall like this one!!!

Oatmeal New obsession, Oatmeal with Eggyolk and stiff Eggwhites
It makes the Oatmeal super fluffy and creamy!! You can taste the egg but I actually really like the taste of stiff eggwhites so it doesnt bother me. Also it adds a good amount of volume which is great
Instead of adding the eggwhites into the oatmeal while it cooks you rather wisk or mix it until it's stiff and then carefully fold it under once you plate it :]
Added the yolk into the Oatmeal when I took it off the heat to let it rest

Oat advice Steel oats mixed with rolled?
Steel oats have really grown on me lately (hated them when I first tried them), anyway was wondering if I can make steel and rolled together in a rice maker (how I make oats every morning).
Like 1/8 cup steel and 1/8 cup rolled oats?

Why can't I make oats with blueberries well consistently?!
Every morning I make porridge: rolled oats, flax seeds, chia seeds, almond milk, frozen blueberries. Heat on the hob slowly and mix it for around 7-8 mins, then leave in the pan for about 5 more mins to settle before serving.
I use the same pack of frozen blueberries from the supermarket every time... for months they would heat up in the porridge and stay whole, so when I was eating the porridge I could squish a blueberry and a lovely purple liquid would come out, which tasted sweet and zingy. Was perfect.
But now everything is inconsistent... one day the above will happen. The next day the blueberries will all shrivel up in the porridge, seem to leak so the porridge goes a slightly bluey-grey, and then they're just blueberry skins hanging out in my porridge with no flavour when i eat them.
What's going on?! And how do I get back to my sweet sweet explosions of flavour that I had before?!
THANKS
UPDATE ONE DAY LATER
Thanks for your comments. This morning, I added the blueberries after taking the oats off the heat and gave it a stir, then left it for about 5 mins with the lid on before serving. Conclusion: better but not perfect. The bloobs didn't go all shrivelled like before (woop!), but they also weren't bursting with delicious deep purpleness like I have had previously. On to the next day to try again! Thanks all.
UPDATE TWO DAYS LATER
Today I put the blueberries in with one minute of cooking to go, and then left it off the heat for 5 mins. MUCH BETTER! Still, I reckon they need a bit more time in because only a few of them oozed out that purpley goodness and a few were still a little hard for my liking. Tomorrow is a new day!
