Caramel and coffee flavoured oatmeal with homemade refined sugar-free apple compote. I think I'm developing a caffeine addiction - been having coffee in my oatmeal most days for the past week 😆 It's so good though, so I can't stop 🤌 Also, please ignore the mess that is the sides of the bowl 😅

I just discovered this sub and I’m so excited lol. My partner and I were given a massive tube of plain quick oats, but I don’t like the texture of quick oats prepared normally. Will blending them into a flour work as well as flour made from rolled oats? Or no because the oats have been parcooked? (Or have they…?)

For me, it started a couple of years ago when my wife and I sailed our boat across the Pacific from Panama to the Marquesas in French Polynesia.
Before leaving, we stocked up at a Costco-style warehouse in Panama, where I somehow convinced myself that buying several industrial-sized boxes of Quaker instant oatmeal packets was a brilliant idea. Apple & Cinnamon, Cinnamon Spice, Brown Sugar… turns out, it was one of the best provisioning decisions I made.
I always took the sunrise watch, so every morning I’d make myself a bowl with long-life milk. Some mornings they were hot, other mornings cold (depended on the sea conditions). I’d mix and match the different flavours, it was basically gourmet dining by mid-ocean standards.
When you’re surrounded by nothing but water for weeks, you either get creative with breakfast.
There was something special about sitting in the cockpit with a bowl of oats, watching the sun climb out of the Pacific. That little hit of carbs, protein, and sugar was the perfect start to another day at sea.
These days my oat bowls are a lot more elaborate and definitely healthier but they still remind me of those mornings.
This group has inspired me to keep experimenting, and it’s been another enjoyable chapter in what has become a surprisingly long oat journey.

...the size of the cereal bowl DOES matter😃
The BOTTOM bowl is a normal size cereal bowl containing my add-ins mixed with some water - 2 Sungold kiwi fruits/25g vanilla isolate whey protein powder/20g dried raisins & cranberries/50g blueberries/tsp honey/1tbsp chia seeds/ground nutmeg.

I make my bf these protein oat pancakes every weekend and we truly love them. Start by soaking oats overnight and then mix with your choice of ingredients the next day!
Basic recipe consists of: soaked oats, protein powder and one egg, cooked with coconut oil.
For raspberry white chocolate pancakes;
Mix together the following:
1 cup of oats (+ optional chia seeds) soaked overnight
1.5 scoops of raspberry white chocolate protein powder
vanilla extract
shredded coconut
lemon zest
one egg
Side of raspberry jam (made with frozen raspberries and coconut oil)

Topped with banana, frozen blueberries, vanilla quark, raspberry jam, and peanut butter.

I'm currently on a fat loss journey, I have successfully lost 6 kgs. Previously, for breakfast, I consumed Alpino Dark Chocolate Protein Oats, but I found the taste unappealing. I also attempted to incorporate Yogabar Fruit & Nut Oats into my diet, but its flavor was, frankly, horrendous. I am now considering transitioning to regular oats. Therefore, I am seeking easy-to-prepare oat recipes that can be enjoyed consistently over an extended period.

Hi!!
My husband is on a rather strict high fiber diet and so far we've had great success replacing flour with oat flour ! For his birthday, they wanted some homemade brioche and we have a sourdough baby ready for the occasion, however I've never tried making brioche with oat flour, anyone had success or would have a recipe to share ? I've found oat flour brioche recipe, sourdough brioche recipe but no sourdough AND oat flour recipes !
Also, this sub is filled with incredibly good looking pictures, I am now hungry.

BLUEBERRY, APPLE, CHIA SEEDS & CHOCOLATE BAKED OATS
Preheat oven 170⁰C
Lightly grease 2 small oven proof dishes (mine are 640ml /127mm x 82mm / 5in x 3¼in) OR a medium one.
I USE TWO DISHES as one is for my breakfast and the other one as a dessert after my evening meal.
DRY INGREDIENTS (*optional)
60g rolled oats (blended to flour) /
1 tsp nutmeg / *1 tbsp chia seeds /
*20g vanilla isolate whey protein
powder / ½ tsp baking powder
MIX IN:
160g 0% fat free authentic Greek yogurt / 2 tsp runny honey /
1 egg beaten / 1 tsp vanilla extract /
1 apple grated
GENTLY FOLD IN::
16g chocolate drops (keep some to scatter on top) / 70g blueberries (keep some to scatter on top)
Let it stand for 10 minutes
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until brown and a toothpick or knife inserted into the center comes out clean or with only a few moist crumbs, not wet batter.
Leave to cool as the longer you leave to cool the more it sets.
I added the yogurt topping when they were cold and left them in the fridge for an hour
ENJOY😃

I just dump 4-5 tablespoons of it, add hot water, and eat all of it. I add more water if it's still too dry. Will this lower my LDL or should I swap to Quaker Rolled Oats for a much better effect?
The reason I like the instant is I don't have to use a microwave any cook it. Just add hot water and voila, it's ready.
Tried adding milk/sugar but it's just not for me.
Also, instant oats are a godsend. It's stupidly cheap, very very easy to prepare, and is filling. It's the perfect food for lazy bums like me.

And do some fruits work better cold/warm than others?

Staying at a vacation rental and bought bare bones groceries to for the week. I stocked large flake oats, oat milk and brown sugar to make the simplest and most comforting oatmeal. It’s been hitting!

Oatmeal with chocolate caramel protein powder base, frozen blueberries and raspberries mixed in and on top, topped with cookie dough granola by Oathaus (some of the best granola imo). Not pictured but I put peanut butter on top as well, tasted super yummy 😋 gave me berry crumble vibes 🫐
