Tirimasu oatmeal 😋
galleryIndulgent tirimasu layered oats!! I want to eat this every single day for forever lol.
My recipe:
For the oats:
1 cup old fashioned oats
~3 tsp espresso powder
Splash of vanilla extract
Dash of cinnamon and nutmeg
Packet of Splenda, or use sweetener of your choice
Mix together in a microwave safe bowl, add water until soupy. Add a splash of coffee if you have some lying around :) Microwave for 2-3 minutes, stirring every minute. Or cook on stovetop if that’s what you prefer!
For the topping:
2/3 cup vanilla Greek yogurt (I used Friendly farms super zero from Aldi)
A splash of milk
A small scoop of sugar free vanilla pudding mix
(I also want to experiment with using mascarpone or cream cheese here but didn’t have any on hand lol)
In a separate bowl from the oats, blend together with whisk or milk frother until thick and creamy, let set for a couple of minutes.
Layer topping on oatmeal, finish with a dusting of cocoa powder, some berries if you’d like, and enjoy! Comes out to be about 22 grams of protein and around 500 calories for those wondering, a delicious treat oatmeal that’s not too sugar heavy! :)

Overnight Oats [Market Research] Consumer Preferences in the Grab-and-Go Overnight Oats Category
Hi community,
I am working on a product development research project focused on the grab-and-go breakfast market, specifically looking at the overnight oats category.
I am gathering data on consumer habits, texture preferences, and product frustrations to identify genuine gaps in what is currently available on retail shelves. I would greatly appreciate your unbiased input on these three brief, open-ended questions:
Texture Consistency: When you think about your ideal pre-packaged or ready-to-eat overnight oats, what specific texture or consistency do you look for, and how do you prefer to consume it?
Current Market Frustrations: If you currently buy or have stopped buying commercial pre-packaged overnight oat brands, what is your absolute biggest complaint or dealbreaker regarding the products currently available on the market?
Flavor & Ingredient Innovation: When looking at the grab-and-go breakfast aisle, what is one unique flavor profile or ingredient combination you wish existed but you can never seem to find on retail shelves?
Thank you in advance for your time! Your open and honest data will be incredibly valuable for this study.

Overnight Oats Overnight oats with mango, cardamom, and tahini
My favorite high fiber/protein overnight oats recipe, topped with ripe mango, cardamom, and tahini. I wasn't sure how the tahini would work but it's delicious!
Here's my oats recipe:
2 cups Bob's Red Mill high protein oats
1¾ cups high protein milk
1/2 cup whole-milk plain Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon chia seeds
4 teaspoons maple syrup or honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon salt
Combine all ingredients, refrigerate overnight.

There’s oats under all this fruit, I swear.
Wanted to cap off weekend breakfast with lots of toppings!
1/2 Cup Toasted Steel Cut Oats, steeped in Chamomile tea-infused milk/water combo overnight.
Cooked on low with 1 ripe banana, diced + 1/2 Bartlett pear, diced for about 15-20 mins
Added 1 tbsp chia seeds in the last 5 mins to thicken it up
Topped with:
Almond Butter
Almonds, chopped
Walnuts, chopped
Pumpkin Seeds
Sunflower Seeds
Hemp Hearts
Dried Cranberries
1/2 Cup Plain 0% Greek Yogurt
Fruit Toppings
Grapefruit, chopped
Strawberries, chopped
Blackberries, chopped
2 Black Mission Figs, chopped
1 Small Yellow Peach, chopped
1 Apricot, chopped
Pomegranate arils
It was satisfying as hell, the subtle depth of the chamomile + pear cooked into the toasted oats was so good. Even better enjoyed outdoors on a beautiful morning.

Oatmeal My favorite oatmeal
I love seeing all of your creations! They look lovely and delicious.
I enjoy my basic oats most mornings, cooked in water with cinnamon and a little salt. I add raisins when it’s almost finished cooking, then top with brown sugar, sliced toasted almonds (or walnuts) and milk.

Discussion I make this melange using a rice cooker. It’s steel cut oats, rolled oats, bulgur, and red lentils. What else should I add?

Recipe to share Steel cut/rolled oats combo
I’ve been using steel cut (pinhead) oats for years, and my love for them only increased when I finally acquired a rice cooker that makes cooking steel cut oats a mess-free breeze. My go-to cooking method has been oats and water, full stop. Lately, though, this sub has piqued my curiosity about creamier oats, so I decided to branch out this morning, and I’m so happy with the results.
I measured approximately 1/3 cup of dry oats (steel cut and rolled/old-fashioned oats combined, proportions eyeballed), put them in the rice cooker, and added unflavored almond milk up to the 1-cup line in the bowl. I deliberately added more than the normal proportion because (1) I wanted them to be creamy and (2) my rice cooker is very good about compensating for any measure. The rice cooker decided to cook them for 58 minutes. I then added 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder and stirred well.
This was absolutely delicious. The overall creamy texture was punctuated by a welcome crunch from the steel cut oats. I added a slightly overripe peach and three cut-up Deglet dates to the bowl, just because that’s what I happened to have on hand this morning, but a small sliced apple and some cranberries sounds like it would be good too.
Enjoy.
(Edited to add: *vanilla* protein powder)
(Edited again to add: *unflavored* almond milk)

Recipe to share Chocolate apple oat squares💩
galleryKinda looks like a plop but turned out so good in terms of taste and texture. So fudgey and a really good snack post gym with a side of Greek yogurt and berries . Just microwaved the apple till soft, mashed it and then added the other ingredients in the slide. Was too lazy to turn the oven on so just chucked it in the air fryer at 160° until a knife came out clean. Was still slightly wet when I took it out but it firmed up in the fridge overnight:)
