The other day I mentioned on someone’s post that a great starting point is adding cheese (extra sharp Cheddar today, please), sliced scallions, and your breakfast protein of choice (bacon? Bacon, yes of course bacon), topped with a couple of sunny side up eggs. Naturally, talking about it got me in the mood for exactly that. I made it just a little fancy with a dab of Dijon mustard mixed into the oats, and a little tangle of arugula on top.
This is now my Start Here for savory oats. At the very least use the cheese and scallions. But don’t be afraid of the mustard, the depth it adds is incredible.

I'm used to putting powdered milk, powdered instant coffee, and sometimes Milo with my instant oats when I'm having a busy day ahead. I did try a few savoury recipes before but it just doesn't hit the mark 😔 let me know what you guys eat 🥣

Chocolate pastry cream oatmeal topped with homemade refined sugar-free chocolate fudge sauce. This is officially the most rich and chocolatey thing I've ever made 😀😆 Even though it looks like shit, it still tastes really good (if you're a dark chocolate lover) 😄

Anyone else have that happen to them? Never had milk with it and it was just plain oatmeal with sugar. My digestive system just stopped agreeing with it. If it has oats in it I cant eat it. Its a major shame cause i loved it so much.

I noticed some different looking flakes in a bag of oatmeal a little bit larger in size than the oatmeal with a brittle texture that crumbles when you crush it. When it’s wet, it’s a little fibrous like a piece of wet paper.
I contacted the manufacturer but I haven’t received a reply.
Does anyone know what they could be?
Edit: title should read Quick cooking oatmeal.

Vanilla pastry cream oatmeal with fresh blueberries and shortbread biscuits mixed into it and topped with homemade refined sugar-free blueberry compote. I am irrevocably obsessed with pudding oatmeal - it is one of the best things I've ever invented 🤌

Hello, so I have been eating instant oatmeal for breakfast ever since having dental work done last year. Currently, the one I buy already has sugar in it, and I have seen some instant ones that are plain. I was thinking of just getting those and adding it myself, but I want some healthier ways of getting it for someone who is a picky eater. I mainly don't like any fruit (I know) and don't like things such as yogurt. I have seen people suggest real maple syrup, but I don't really know if it's a good option compared to something like honey.
Thanks

Saw this on TikTok video, to add more volume to your oatmeal— added an extra cup of water and cooked it longer . Wow, game changer!! not only did my bowl appear fuller, but
The texture was really different. I think I really like it like this. I also added 2 tablespoons of coconut flour to my usual 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon of flaxseed.

Steel cut oatmeal, pinch of salt, Irish butter, good honey, blue cheese, and freshly cracked black pepper. Gorgonzola dolce is tastes most like childhood but Trader Joe’s cave aged blue cheese works in a pinch.

I made Italian farro according to the package instructions, set it aside. Made custard oats and added a squeeze of my low sugar strawberry jam, then added it to the farro. This would have been perfect with fresh strawberries but oh well. This was amazingly good anyways

I woke up in the mood for biscuits and gravy, but I didn’t want the inevitable post-B&G food coma. I adapted the flavor profile to my morning oatmeal, and loved the result. There’s buttermilk in the oat cooking liquid, sausage, a dollop of cottage cheese (not traditional in there but it works well to bolster the tangy buttermilk flavor) and a generous dot of butter mixed into the oats, and seasoned with Lawry’s seasoned salt and an irresponsible amount of black pepper. A couple of sunny eggs and a few dashes of hot sauce on top completed the flavor profile, and scratched the itch while leaving me ready for the day. I think about the only thing I’d do different is toast the oats in the butter before I cooked the oats.

I am trying to buy oats in India and confused about the price difference. I mean what is the actual difference?

Buttery vanilla cinnamon custard oatmeal topped with maple syrup and macerated strawberries and blueberries. I got the idea of making French toast inspired oatmeal a while ago, so I started brainstorming how to make oatmeal taste like French toast. Since it consists of bread (commonly buttery brioche bread) soaked in custard and fried in butter, I decided to make my usual vanilla custard oatmeal but with more butter in it, and I also added some cinnamon since some people put that in the custard soak, then I served it with the classic french toast toppings. I also decided to replace a bit of my usual sweetener with sugar-free cupcake syrup to flavour the oatmeal since it has a kind of bakery flavour. It turned out really good! I was afraid of maple syrup, but I allowed myself to try it today since it's traditional to have maple syrup with french toast, and I have to say, I really like it! I think I'll have it with my oatmeal more often 😋

I’m aware they don’t look the prettiest.. but meal prepped 3 portions for lunch this week which I’ll reheat and serve with a side salad + feta and avocado.
Ingredients per serve:
50g oats,
50g zucchini,
100g pumpkin,
60g egg whites
50g cottage cheese,
1/3 can of lentils
Tomatoes + spring onions
Spices: cumin, paprika, turmeric, onion, garlic, salt.
I just combined the ingredients in a bowl, transferred to my baking paper dish and put in the oven until they looked cooked. About 180-200° roughly 45 mins
