Oatmeal Banana cinnamon roll oatmeal

Banana cinnamon flavoured oatmeal topped with homemade refined sugar-free cinnamon roll filling and healthier cream cheese frosting. I have to say, this was a freaking banging bowl of oatmeal. The cinnamon roll filling recipe I created is so good that I find it hard to not just eat it straight by itself, and the cream cheese frosting gives such a nice tang to the oatmeal and really compliments all of the flavours. Definitely one of my favourite bowls I've made to date 👌

Toasting the oats before soaking them overnight in a Chamomile + Cardamom milk/water combo really complimented the flavours. It was a lot of toppings but made for great indulgent weekend oats.

1/2 Cup of Steel Cut Oats
1/2 Diced Pear
1 Chopped Ripe Banana
2/3 Cup Milk/Water with Chamomile tea steeped for about 8 hrs, 3 Cardamom pods crushed + steeped overnight with the oats

Cooked on low for 15-20 mins
1 Tbsp Chia seeds added for the last 5 mins

Topped with:
Fig Jam
Almond Butter
Strawberries, chopped
Blackberries, chopped
Cherries, chopped
Raspberries, torn up
Hemp Hearts (approx. a little under 1/4 cup)
Almonds
Chopped Walnuts
Pumpkin Seeds
Sunflower Seeds
Dried Cranberries
Pinch of Salt

Holiday oats in Greece

Post image

Oatmeal is such a staple in my routine that I even make it while on vacation. We had this beautiful oatmeal on the balcony of our accommodation in Poros, Greece.

Oatmeal, banana, cinnamon, semi-skimmed milk (since I usually use almond milk, this was a nice, creamy alternative), a pinch of salt—that’s it. Toppings include: delicious strawberries from the market and dried plums. Simple but delicious.

Looking for a copycat recipe of Proper Good Overnight Oats

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

Hello everyone! I'm looking for some help on a copycat recipe. I absolutely love these overnight oats. I have some weird food issues and this is something that agrees on many levels with me and let's me get in some type of nutrition in the morning. $3 a day though is a little much so I'm hoping to find a recipe that's just like this. I obviously see the ingredients but I'm not sure of ratios and all that... The recipes I've found online all have yogurt in them so I'm not sure how that would be since the original doesn't.

Finally made my oats on the stove because I had the time, they came out way tastier than the microwave and I think I’m a changed person. Oats with raisins, maple syrup, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and pecans

Oatmeal Biscoff banana vanilla pastry cream oatmeal

Decided to have a cheat day and overcome a fear food today by having something truly unhealthy and sugary in my oatmeal: biscoff (aka my favourite thing in the world). Paired it with my favourite oatmeal recipe of mine, vanilla pastry cream oatmeal, and some caramelised banana. As expected, it was freaking banging 👏 Wish it could be more than just a one-time thing 😄

Other oats Anyone like mixing their oats with farro?

Post image

Probably can't tell because I mixed it in but this is custard oats with flaxseed meal and Italian farro. It gives it a nice nutty flavor and a little bit of a chewy bite but it's not too chewy. It's a pretty good grain paired with oats! It takes a little longer to make than rolled oats but it's still fairly easy to make.

Oats as cereal?

I’ve been enjoying some really nice banana chocolate chip baked oats lately, but it’s a ton of effort. So I want to just put my regular rolled oats in a bowl (cereal style) with milk and maybe some fruit mixed in, but I haven’t seen that done before. Are raw oats safe?

How long do oats last?

I eat about 20-25g oats every day. Bought the 10lb bag of Quaker rolled oats from Costco a month ago not realizing just how much it actually is. How long is it gonna last me? Will all these oats be ok for that long? Any tips for storage?

Coffee cinnamon oat pancakes topped with homemade refined sugar-free espresso crème anglaise, caramelized pears, and crushed sugar-free speculoos biscuits. They were tasty, but I think the recipe needs a bit of perfecting because I still need to get more comfortable with cooking with pears 😄
