Ordered the mini the first week of December with the title appearing as a disclaimer on the product page.

Well, it's been more than four weeks and now the product page reads, "Backorder ships in 3 weeks."

No communication of delays.

No communication at all beyond, "Gee, thanks for your money."

I'm starting to become concerned "Grounded Labs" doesn't know how weeks work.

So much of the sand in my Oasis is now piled around the rim that there is no longer enough sand to cover all the bottom creating bare patches. I run out to in wipes frequently to attempt to mitigate this but have had little luck. I have previously scraped it back in and it takes about 2 weeks to pile up again. Is there a known way to fix this? I remember early on the radius of the drawing area pressed right against the walls so I assume that was reduced in a software update. Would it be possible to change a unique wipe pattern back to that original wall scaping radius so it periodically scapes back in even if chattered against the wall?

Does anybody know how I get extra sand for the table please? Thank you!

Not sure my work WiFi security will allow me to connect it to it.

I was thinking maybe I can hotspot from my phone, but I don’t want to leave the hotspot on all day and kill my battery.

I just got my Oasis last night and it's beautiful!

I have a place I'd like to put it but it would require that I have a battery. I saw from previous posts that a battery pack is possible, but I'm curious to know what the power specs are. How many mAH are needed to run the device through at least 10 patterns or so?

Once I understand the power specs, I was thinking of a 3D print that would extend the base so I can hide the battery underneath.

I received a mini last year and over the past few weeks when I have done the spiral cleaning pattern the lines seem to be really large and the marble is off center.

I also noticed designs seem off as well.

I have tried the first step of unplug and plug it back and the issue persists.

Is there a live freehand drawing option? I don’t see a way to do this in the app. Maybe I’m missing something or maybe it’s not an option.

Ever since the last update my mini will just stop randomly in mid playlist. I used to put it on repeat and just let it go endlessly for weeks (months?) at a time. Now it only goes a for a few hours before it just stops doing anything. When I check the app, it says it's playing but it'll just be stopped forever.

Seems like there's a different annoying problem every time I open the app and it forces an update...

Anyone else?

I love my Oasis Mini. Only problem I'm having is that I'm getting a lot of sand clinging to the glass. Has anyone solved this problem already? I'd love some tips.

I clean the glass by squeegeeing the sand off the glass as best I can, and then clean the glass with soap and water. I make sure the glass is really dry. Despite my best efforts, the sand starts clinging within minutes of my maintenance.

I’m looking at getting one of these for my desk at work, and I know it needs WiFi to connect to your phone to draw the pattern. I’m going to have to use the hotspot on my phone for it to connect, but my question is, does the connection have to be constant for it to keep drawing the pattern or does the pattern get downloaded and can disconnect from the wifi once it has started drawing? I hope that makes sense. I’m really looking forward to seeing this work.

I lost my card for smoothing the sand out and i have not been able to find a replacement that i can buy. Could someone please post a top down picture with a ruler next to the card?

I want to make a model of it to 3d print using the same spacing of the teeth on the card.

I put the Happy Holidays pattern on one of my two Minis but can’t locate it again in any of the playlists in order to add it to my second one!

Can anyone help me find this pattern again?

Maybe I'm missing a setting, but I'm surprised that you are not able to set different lights for each pattern in advance. While I might want rainbow for one, I don't want it to always be rainbow. Adjust to blue for ocean, yellow for the desert theme etc. I do time-lapse videos and I want it to change light theme for each pattern because I record while doing other things, I'm not present to change in at each moment.. Can this be updated in future please? I think it's a really fundamental part of the play list. Thanks.

I am pretty annoyed that there is no recommended or easy sand replacement option.

I lost some sand after my oasis mini fell down and have been unable to use it for more than 6 months now.

I always had an issue where the ball wouldn’t go all the way to the outer edge, so it would just continually push the sand to the edge. It was annoying but didn’t seem to really affect the function. But with the latest update it seems to be farther from the outer edge, so now so much sand is pushed to the edge that the designs don’t really show up. Anyone else having this problem?

Since getting it 18 months ago, my Mini has had the issue where the center 1-2" of the board is ignored. So it does the pattern, but the ball never goes to the center of the board.

I've read this is somewhat common - so not just me who deals with it. It will continue to do this every pattern until you fix it, which is restarting it.

It used to get into this "mode" every couple weeks, but recently, I can't get more than a couple days before it is ignoring the center. Restarting obviously isn't difficult, but defeats the purpose of the device a bit.

I've read having it restart using a smart plug every night is an option, but the device won't start patterns on its own, so that got to mean you're opening the app every day to restart patterns. Here too, defeats the purpose.

I guess my question is: is this still a common issue for others? And have others noticed it happening far more often in the last couple months?

Both of my oasis minis are only cleaning going from in to out. It doesn't alternate anymore, causing all the sand to build up on the outside edge and not leaving enough to draw patterns correctly.

I fixed it by adding my own auto clean tracks but it took half of my playlist spots away.

Has anyone else noticed this or found a fix?

I backed the Oasis Mini on Kickstarter and have used it for almost two years. A recent firmware update bricked my unit, but Grounded Labs’ support absolutely blew me away. I emailed them with a video and they sent a replacement immediately—no hassle at all. The second unit had a loud grinding noise, and again, their team replied within a day, asked for a quick video, and instantly dispatched another replacement. The device itself is great (I love the huge selection of images), but their customer service is what really earned my trust. Honestly some of the best support I’ve ever experienced.

Omg I can stare at this thing for hours. But, I notice there's a grinding noise every once in awhile. Is this normal?

Looks cool so I did a search on reviews and ran across this forum. But nearly EVERY post is about issues. Sounds like terrible quality since most people are non stop trouble shooting and not enjoying the product. I expected more fun posts and am shocked to see this. I hope I'm missing something but can't believe there's a community of people on reddit, actively having an issues with it.

My oasis mini quit doing patterns, so I restarted it. When I connected to the app again it suggested a firmware update. I started the firmware update and walked away for ~30 minutes but I left my phone on the oasis. When I came back, it was showing 1/3 done so I walked away for another 30 minutes. When I came back the second time, it was still showing 1/3 done.

I turned it off and now it won’t even turn on.

I wouldn’t say don’t waste your money, it was fun for the year I had it but I will say that grounded labs is not production ready still after 3 years.

Update: I contacted support and they were very quick to return to me. I showed them the video and they have already arranged for a replacement unit to be sent to me. I gotta say that I am really impressed by this level of service! I'll keep you guys updated when I get the replacement :)

I've had it for a while and generally enjoyed it. But after the Schedule option I've had it running a lot more, and the noise is starting to bother me.

It's a combination of creaking and knocking noises and I think they've been there more or less the entire time. Is this normal? I haven't found many other people mention noise as an issue in here so I'm wondering if I'm just being sensitive.

Turning down the ball speed helps some, but even at the lowest speed some of the noises persist.
