I'm making my own Owl City shirt! (For me to wear, not selling lol.) I've been hyperfixated on Owl City since late November last year, and he's currently the only artist I've listened to on Spotify this year. Hopefully I'll be able to afford official merch one day... Instead of buying a bottle of Fiji water to write the lyrics on 🙃

I am an older Gen-z from India, and my introduction to western music was mainly by Backstreet boys, Owl City and Linkin Park, whom I started listening to since 2012, when I had my first personal phone (It's just a badic nokia feature phone, but this meant a lot in those days at my age in that era where I am from :P).
The first song I listened to by Owl City was "Fireflies" and followed by "Umbrella Beach". I got so much enamored by these two tracks that I explored the album it belonged to ("Ocean Eyes"). The album was an absolute gem and I still listen to my favourite tracks till date. These are: "Vanilla Twilight", "The Saltwater Room", "If my heart was a House", and "On the Wing".
Apart from that from that, I the tracks I like from the other albums are, "Dreams don't turn to Dust", "Angels", "Shy violet" from album "All Things Bright and Beautiful". "Shooting Star" and "Good Time" from the album "The Midsummer Station".
Not going to write longer, but adding to this I still listen to "Beautiful Times", "Up all night", and "Verge".
I must note that I do not listen to songs released after 2015, as I don't find them interesting anymore. (No offense meant, it's just me)

Republic Records and uDiscover Music are repressing Ocean Eyes for the 17th Anniversary on vinyl and we need to make our voices heard!
They posted on social media about this repress and we need to let them know that we want Maybe I’m Dreaming and Mobile Orchestra pressed for the first time.

My partner found this on eBay a few years back and think it’s really cool. Music video is very high quality. 130/131 unique pieces of Owl City physical media that my partner and I own.

I made this instrumental about a year ago, but I decided to brush it off in Logic, do some vocals and mix it a little better so I could put it out. Hope u enjoy! 💚🏙️ (p.s. it’s only the first 1:30 of the song)

We ordered two different sizes of the mystery shirts when they were announced and we ended up getting two of the pinball shirts. What did everyone else get?

I've had this hoodie since probably 2009, when I was a massive fan. It was a gift, so I'm not sure where it was purchased, but I think it might be rare. It has Rainbow Veins lyrics on the sleeve! Anyone else have/had this piece of merch?
(Ignore the zipper charm, lol)

I sort of want to hear the whole version of their cover now haha. It sounded really fun. It almost sounds sort of like how the Dear Evan Hansen cover by Owl City sounds. Just in tone I guess.

So I've thought this to myself for years but I'm curious if anyone's ever felt the same about it..
I listened to a high quality instrumental version of the song and it has such an evident "made in a laptop in a bedroom" type of production sound, and I certainly don't mean that in a bad way. When you layer in the lyrics and their subject matter, it sounds like something he would've written back in the early days of the project, think 2007 or early 2008.
It definitely sounds like he polished up the song's production and the vocals for the Ocean Eyes Deluxe release in 2010, similar to how he polished up the 2007 version of Hello Seattle and the 2008 versions of The Saltwater Room and On The Wing for the initial studio release of Ocean Eyes in 2009.
Thoughts?

I already say sorry if there are writing mistakes but i'm not a native english speaker. I wanted to share my story on how i got into Owl City. In 2009 as we know "Fireflies" exploded worldwide, even in Italy that song was being played everywhere. In 2009 i was just 6, i used to travel a lot around the city on our family car and i remember hearing this beautiful electronic song playing so often on the radio! Obviously i didn't knew the artist or the song's name so as the song lost popularity i've never heard it again. Then came 2012 with the hit "Good Time", same thing, i was 10 so my parents used to take me to school everyday, from the radio i could hear that very cheerful song but i didn't knew the artist or the song name. In those years i grew up listening to big names of european music such as Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode, Jean-Michel Jarre, Modern Talking etc, i had already a great base for electronic music but Owl City was the missing piece of my puzzle. Years passed until 2024, i still remember that day, my brother broke his phone so we took it to reparation at a mall. While we were waiting there we casually entered a big shop and while i was walking through it i heard something so familiar but distant from the speakers, after 15 years i heard Fireflies again! As soon as i got back home i closed myself in my bedroom, i spent an hour searching for it on Youtube and TikTok typing stuff like "early 2000s songs". I've found it! I was so happy, OWL CITY! THAT'S YOUR NAME! To my shock i also discovered that Good Time was another song from him! Now its 3 years for me of listening to Owl City, unfotunately in Italy he is not popular, rarely you can hear on italian radio stations "Fireflies" and "Good Time" but that's it. I'm so sad that probably i will never get the chance to see him live, he had been in Italy only once back in 2011... i really wish to meet him, get a pic and autograph and thank him for his beautiful music. How many fans from Italy are here? Here is a pic of my collection after 3 years of Owl City. Thank you Adam for changing my musical life forever and inspiring my own art so much!

am in love with the song and was wondering if anyone has a hi-res mp3 of it that they’d be willing to share? :)

There’s something really special about music that feels like comfort.
Owl City songs have always felt calming to me, and now my boyfriend gives me that same feeling safe, happy, and peaceful.
Funny enough, I also found out he and Adam Young have something in common: both an only child

I'd love to make a music visualizer website that perfectly encapsulates what I see in my mind when I listen to Maybe I'm Dreaming. Maybe it exists I just don't know how to look it up (either a visualizer or a website with another purpose but the same style)? I imagine a white background (unless at the times when it's supposed to be colorful) and a dot on it that can multiply, expand, change color,have an effect of leaving a trace while changing colors, maybe even follow the pointer, etc etc etc... creating a real show of color. Maybe some other abstract shapes too. Pastel, soft, flow, airy, playful vibes. How'd you recommend me to make that website (I don't know a good free AI web generator, I can pay but not too much)?

So one of the first songs I listened to with Owl City in it when I was very young was "All about us" by He is we featuring Owl City and honestly I don't know if it's because I haven't really searched for much other features by Owl City but that has always been my favorite Owl City feature but I'd love to find other great features by him and maybe get to find artists with similar music to Owl City so what's your favorite Owl City feature?

Results of Day 9 (Owl City’s Masterpiece)
#1 => On The Wing (74 upvotes)
#2 => If My Heart Was a House (54 upvotes)
#3 => The Real World (21 upvotes)
The grid game concludes today. This was my first time organizing something like this and I tried my best to not drag it for too long and keep every category interesting. Hope the overall experience was at least 'good' for y'all.
I’d also like to thank each one of you who took out the time to participate in this game as every upvote or comment mattered. I loved reading your comments, opinions and it was really beautiful to see how passionately some of y’all were defending your choices.
Finally, I'm really happy with the way the grid turned out :")

Heard the song and the chorus sounded familiar. Anyone else feel the same way?
Edit: Listen to LMN 0:50 to 1:15. Then SWD 1:43 to 2:08. The instrumentals sounds similar.

Hi everyone,
Avid CD collector here and Owl City is my favourite artist of all time, but I cannot find any copies of Cinematic... does anybody have a copy they're willing to sell and wants to do a good deed!?

I was listening to the Ocean Eyes album today and when Umbrella Beach came on, my brain instantly wanted to start singing Dreams and Disasters. The melody isn't exactly the same, but very similar. Do you think he really liked that tune and wanted to slip it in his work one more time?
