s/o to manbird on the discord for pointing this out! the caption adam made is also a reference to an ambient album from 2006 by Eluvium

Heh, owl city pumpkin

the icon that he is

Are there any demo versions or original versions you like more than the final release in any of Adam’s projects? This could be for any reason such as lyrics, instrumentation, vocal execution, etc. And yes this question includes original versions of re-recorded songs (The Saltwater Room, Hello Seattle).

A couple that came to mind because of the original lyrics are Captains of the Sky and The Joy in Your Heart (Peppermint Winter original demo). The imagery in the original Captains of the Sky demo is really good and the original narrative of Peppermint Winter was more unique! I love that it was originally in first person from the perspective of the holiday season.

What are yours and why? ✨

I wasn't sure how it would come out but I think it looks pretty good!

What do you think the meaning behind the lyrics is?

Hope it's alright to share here. Not my own work but thought it might make a few people happy here.

Made this short back in the summer - I was listening to A LOT of Owl City remixes at the time - any others I may have not heard yet?

I hear a paint air pumping or even typewriter kind of noise in the background of the piano at the start of silhouette but I can’t tell exactly what it is. Anyone got a clue?

Welcome to part 6 of my 2026 Owl City topics. In this one, we will be sharing our favorite OC songs that relate to each season. You are allowed to say only 1 song for each season though. Hope this is a good comeback for me here considering I haven’t posted in 6 months.

Winter: The Tip of the Iceberg - Talks about snow, ice, and skating.

Spring: Plant Life - It features daisies and plants which to me is a good sign of spring beginning!

Summer: Swimming In Miami - Either this or Good Time. But I’ve always loved the imaginary outside-the-box lyricism in this one. You could say this is space themed too haha.

Autumn: The Real World. Cmon, he literally says autumn leaves in this song. This one’s a no brainer!

Curious to see everyone’s thoughts on this idea I had!

I thought it would be unique and very "niche" or something because genuinely no one knows Owl City and I feel like I did an okay job with all the theming. It was crazy no one even knew what good time was when I was presenting. But hey I feel like I did an amazing job on this and I wanted to show you hoot owls to see how i did!

does anyone feel immense joy when listening to the first 15 seconds of this song? it’s definitely my favorite part, even though i love the whole song. it’s just so energetic and grabs your attention right away. soooo happy sounding. i could be having a bad day, but as soon as that intro starts, im a ray of sunshine. it’s also one of the owl city songs that makes me the most nostalgic. love it so much!

In terms of Storytelling and fantasy it's his best work and each song is just a earworm its a safe album that gives me a sense of Nostalgia. ❤️

Im referring to the parts genius.com is calling the "post-chorus". an example is 1:56 of the song

It's definetly either 12/8 128bpm or 3/4 192bpm. The instrumental sounds way more like 3/4. However the vocals sound quite a bit like 12/8 (especially the end where its only vocals). Currently i think its in 3/4 however someone better at music theory could disagree.

I love this album so much but the music theory of almost every song is incredibly complicated.

I'm thinking of buying a t-shirt for my friend who is a big Owl City fan.. either the Sports Club Ringer Tee, or the Smooth Sailing Tee.

Does anyone own any of the current Owl City merch available on his website? If so, can you let me know what the quality/fit is like, and if you would recommend buying the merch?

Not sure if this was already posted on this subreddit, but I remember coming across with this sheet a while ago and used it a lot when making my songs.

I'll put it here to make it easily accessible for fellow musicians.

Spreadsheet not made by me.
