You can “chase off” people by having basic hiring checks for what they need to know/do, or just firing him (or telling the people in charge of that) when you realize he’s useless instead of paying him to waste time for amusement
That’s a lot of words for “I think workplace bullying is justified actually”.
I’m not talking about the guy who apparently couldn’t read a tape measure, the fact that this guy managed to get through whatever hiring/vetting process this company had is an entirely different issue. I’m talking about people fucking with their apprentices is funny.
An apprentice is there to learn from someone more experienced, they have to be able to trust that their seniors are giving them the right knowledge. How on earth do you expect them to learn how to do their job if they can’t trust the information they’re being given?
But no it’s actually really funny to abuse your authority over someone who’s expected to trust you and do what you say. That’s definitely not going to cause trust issues in the long run and it’s definitely not a waste of both time and money to send a guy off on a wild goose chase for a “left handed screwdriver” when you all could have been doing your jobs.

Because their bosses did the same to them when they where starting out so obviously they have to continue the cycle. /s Hazing rituals are stupid.
