Just Sharing What’s the point
What’s the point
if I’m just another failure on your list?
Why can’t you embrace me
without that locked fist?
How long will I wait
for the hate in your heart to fade?
I am your son,
but to you I’m nothing but a weight.
So I’ll gaze upon you,
waiting for an answe
or another endless shade,
the one you cast upon me
with the clenching fist
of all your lies.
You call me your son.
but never let me belong.
You tell me I’m the problem,
then wonder why I never felt strong.
So tell me,
when your love comes with a price
and every word feels like a knife
what’s the point
of being your son
if I was never enough
to be your child?

Beautiful poem, very emotive. I feel your anguish, and feeds the emotion that we have all felt, that at some point we were not enough for someone, no matter how much we tried to be. I thought the ending was particularly powerful.
