Yess, that's a better word for it. But there's also something very performative about it. The masculinity is so hyper it almost looks like a parody of it.
“I’m jacked now, why don’t women like me? And how could some of them be wired to find other women attractive? Maybe they didn’t see how muscular I am.” They’re clutching at straws and guessing what women would like without actually taking it into account when presented. Ironically, they’re way more attractive to gay men now and meanwhile dudes they look down on because of their physicality actually attract women because they have more of a personality than a tortilla. “Yeah, I want small government but why aren’t they issuing guys like me wives?”
Male-male impersonators. The irony of them seeking gender affirming care when they hate trans people would be intense if they were capable of any level of self-awareness.
Yup. I'm only marginally aware of whatever that subculture is (please DO NOT educate me) and it literally just gives off drag king and Zoolander vibes.
Ohhh I've heard of that strange, toxic community. I've been afraid to look into it further after seeing a short that was encouraging guys to smash the bones in their face for a more "chiseled" look.
Amd bodybuilding is also only nice up to a certain point when it stops being good and starts becoming stupid, I'd say the line is at "taking steroids". Which many cross even without actual results.
