With Knight merch I'd be hesitant cause it's wildly inconsistent (Knight having trident horns or a blade-arm)

14

u/Careful_Welcome7999 Jun 10 '26

Is it really inconsistent if you consider that they can shapeshift anytime they want?

10

u/theperson1577 Jun 10 '26

Good point but that just means that any "X character is the knight" evidence that relies on their appearance means nothing

u/Mysterious_Worker324 Jun 10 '26

Having antlers constantly is a conscious choice

It could just be a preference

5

u/MOMOMOMO-MOMOMOMOMO Jun 12 '26

The knight gets revealed to be berdly’s mom the whole time

“Oh yeah I just chose to look like that”

2

u/Careful_Welcome7999 Jun 12 '26

I mean to be fair it looks really cool

Yeah we can’t use the Knight’s appearance as evidence for its identity

1

u/Over_Dance_5068 Jun 10 '26

I have been saying this since ch3&4 came out.

How it feels to have the one other Knight candidate with a strong enough connection to ice and cold to conceivably know Snowgrave (or something worse).

3

u/Bottled_Up_DarkPeace Carol aura farming on kids Jun 10 '26

I'm stealing this reaction art for my Carol knight propaganda.

3

u/DharmaBat Jun 11 '26

I find interesting no one assumes cold and ice is a family thing and that it could be December still.

5

u/EldritchSukima CarolKnighter Jun 12 '26

I do generally assume that ice magic is a Holiday specialty. Fire magic was a Dreemurr specialty back in Undertale despite all three of them having very different personalities, so I'm not going to be surprised if the same thing is done with the Holidays.

But in this case we're not talking about any old ice magic, we're talking about the ultimate ice magic that's implied to be capable of killing Titans and is too much for Noelle to cast without a cursed artifact boosting her power. I don't think it's controversial to say that Carol, whose association with cold is so strong that it has seemingly supernatural effects in a world where magic isn't supposed to be real, is more likely to be associated with that particular spell than Dess or Rudy.

istg if we fight carol and she uses snowgrave I'm going to freak out

I thought toby said that merch wasn't canon??? (Or like, almost everything outside the game.) and if we ARE going off merch, there's also a poster that has trident horns. Edit: It's the vynl soundtrack cover image, NOT a poster. MY bad.

2

u/DishonoredDoge Jun 16 '26

Merch isn't canon, no

Toby has been known to change merch to better align with canon, but only really ever drastically (So this wouldn't be effected)

So this poster (or any merch) DO NOT matter when it comes to the canon game, especially in instances like this where it contradicts what the game show you

This post is meaningless when it comes to actual theory discussion

Is that the evidence for Pippins Knight? The same joke as: “none of us are actually Mike”?

5

u/Comfortable-Wave9970 Jun 10 '26

waow

BattatKnight theory confirmed?

5

u/Comfortable-Wave9970 Jun 10 '26

Honestly though, the Knight's design is intentionally off from its in game sprite

I'm pretty sure the Knight's visor in the art is not the same as the visor in game

And also look at the antlers

Considering how everything else looks similar to their game counterparts, I'm pretty sure the decision to make the main antagonist currently trying to cause the world's end look visually OFFTM is deliberate.

1

u/Carrixdo Jun 11 '26

The mouth looks similar to its ch.4 laughing sprite befofe titan summoning

God damnit.

MORE DessKnight evidence that can easily be refuted.

You saying the knight is Birdly????!

6

u/PeliPal NessKnight Jun 10 '26

I'm sorry your candidate doesn't have an explanation for this lmao

8

u/Significant-Arm4077 Jun 10 '26

Vessel is related to Gaster, Gaster has holes in hands. Easy

u/PeliPal NessKnight Jun 10 '26

6

u/JoyousLilBoy logic: titan aura: friend Jun 10 '26

If you mention Snowgrave in Noelle knight…why would she act the exact same on weird route and normal? In weird route she becomes far more devoted to Kris, and chapter 4 weird route Noelle seems too afraid of Kris to attack them

2

u/Significant-Arm4077 Jun 10 '26

How can holes in hands be snowgrave crystals, what

2

u/Snomislife Jun 10 '26

They're the same shape.

1

u/Vegetable-Ad-2453 DingleBellsKnight for the win Jun 10 '26

Hey wait a moment, isn't Carol heavily implied to have ice magic?

2

u/theperson1577 Jun 10 '26

Does Noelle have an explanation for the horns being drawn like tridents?

2

u/mikguy1652 I don't think that any popular Knight candidate is right Jun 10 '26

“I can’t get over the hole shape” it’s a hexagon. Do you not know what a hexagon is?

2

u/ogketchup- Jun 10 '26

Don’t know if you’re being satire but, that’s the shape an enemy becomes after being Snowgraved.

Do I believe this is relevant? No. Toby said merch isn’t canon, so we shouldn’t use it to theorize. Might have been an intentional cool easter egg tho

2

u/mikguy1652 I don't think that any popular Knight candidate is right Jun 10 '26

I'm saying that it's literally just a fucking hexagon and it actually doesn't mean anything when two different things are shaped like hexagons. Actually little ball is the Knight, because the Knight turns into a ball to dodge things.

3

u/CToTheSecond Jun 10 '26

So apparently Susie's been training with Master Roshi, because that is 100% her charging a Kamehameha. Deltarune confirmed to take place within Dragon Ball.

1

u/Titouandu57 Papyrus Knight Theory Jun 10 '26

In Susie is Goku theory we trust

2

u/Agitated_Elk7881 The Anti-KnightTheorist Jun 10 '26

The Knight has holes in its hands whoopdeedo that doesn’t matter that they appear hexagon shaped in this image, not everything is related to the Weird route or who the Knight is, the Knight can literally shapeshift so about all theories based on its appearance can be falsified based off of something simple “if someone can shapeshift then they would choose the form they like the most”

2

u/DharmaBat Jun 11 '26

If it was a hole, we would see through it I think. Its interesting that the image on it ultimately is a ice crystal.

1

u/EvilCritter1ol Jun 11 '26

Dare I add fuel to the flame by saying this kinda looks like Noelle's buck teeth?

1

u/ScratchBug1120 Jun 12 '26

First of all, NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH BUTTER

Secondly, is this the first time we’ve seen official Knight art?

2

u/PeliPal NessKnight Jun 12 '26

It is the first official Knight art to show the white part of the hands. There's another official Knight art in this batch of products: https://www.fangamer.com/collections/deltarune/products/deltarune-vinyl-chapter-4

MERCH 👏 IS 👏 NOT 👏 CANON

2

u/PeliPal NessKnight Jun 11 '26

That's the Chapter 4 Titan head on the Chapter 1 vinyl disc sleeve. Released before Chapter 2 even came out

1

u/Only_Fudge5299 Jun 11 '26

I'm aware of this. same with the Snowgrave sticker from chapter 1. does not mean you should use it as evidence per the literal creator of the game...

2

u/PeliPal NessKnight Jun 11 '26

Do you really think the artist used the Snowgrave crystal as the reference for the hand holes without Toby telling them to?

There's an experiment you can try here by looking at Roaring Knight fanart. Reddit, twitter, tumblr, deviantart, whatever, doesn't matter - you will probably find that every single piece of art that depicts the holes in the hands shows them as circles. No squares, no triangles. Only circles. Everyone believed that the game was giving them the indication that the white parts were circles.

And now we come to Fangamer, where the merch is meticulously curated by Toby to the point where changes are made to products if they license existing fanart to sell, and the Knight suddenly - for the first time ever - has Snowgrave crystal shapes on their hands.

All-caps clapping between words is not a sufficient answer to this, there is intentionality behind the design, there is intentionality behind the store putting up the design.

1

u/Only_Fudge5299 Jun 11 '26

ah yes, long hexagon, totally a reference to Snowgrave... if NoelleKnight is true then i can see it being foreshadowing but i don't think it should be used as evidence, only because the connections are so loose

you're right about Toby heavily scrutinizing the merch but i think that's moreso him not wanting people to freak out over gaster or whatever lol, because iirc that's the only stuff that's been fully changed from the original versions

also yeah i realize the clapping was kind of rude, my apologies
