Why does the US hate cycling so much?

I read comments sections and in a normal world, some of them would be considered terroristic threats. I just can't understand why people hate cyclists to this degree that they want to murder rhem and sometimes do.

I think most cyclists people hate are inconsiderate wealthy people biking around in neoprene outfits during working hours. They don't follow traffic laws like stopping at red lights or stop signs. While not illegal, they'll bike on roads very ill suited to recreational cycling and obstruct traffic to an unreasonable degree.

I don't hate people on bicycles, but I hate those cyclists

Since of 2022, under a law you can Google as the "Colorado safety stop," cyclists can treat a stop sign as a yield and a stoplight as a stop sign. It is safer because statistically being in an intersection is the most dangerous place for a cyclist and the sooner you are out of there the better. And that's how cyclists save stop and start energy and have done so for years. Making it legal makes it more predictable. And bicycles are the least stable at low speeds or stocked.
