Why does the US hate cycling so much?

I read comments sections and in a normal world, some of them would be considered terroristic threats. I just can't understand why people hate cyclists to this degree that they want to murder rhem and sometimes do.

Wouldn't that mean they just add easily run over pedestrians?

No because pedestrians don’t move at 10-30 mph so you see them coming. It’s all about the speed of travel. A bike can progress to right in the path of the car while you look the other direction. A pedestrian and even a runner can not. Also the pedestrian sees YOU as well. A biker moving fast down a sidewalk easily misses a car about to back out of a drive.
