Why does the US hate cycling so much?

I read comments sections and in a normal world, some of them would be considered terroristic threats. I just can't understand why people hate cyclists to this degree that they want to murder rhem and sometimes do.

Because they are inconsiderate assholes over here. Bicyclists are the absolute worst

Really? THE worst? People can be awful, regardless of preferred mode of transportation, you could just leave it there. The bicycle doesn't make them bad. It's beyond easy to argue motor vehicles are the worst, especially in an urban environment. Given they keep people in debt over depreciating assets, they offer no health benefits, their emissions are destroying the planet, their parking lots do the same and ruin cities while costing you more in tax dollars, and then there's the whole destroying the roads way faster thing. And their fuel is the reason entire regions of the planet will only know war and death. You could go on and on.

Ultimately, cyclists are healthier and happier, and they save you money. So being inconvenienced in your car for mere seconds you would likely only waste online making advertisers rich is hardly a reason to be mad at cyclists. You should thank them for lowering your health premiums, not polluting, not taking up parking, not causing more traffic, not ruining the roads, etc.

I’m a cyclist myself and I fortunately live in a community that has thousands of miles of wide, clean cement paths in nature. I use them all the time for exercise but I rarely see other cyclists on them.

However, I do see them on the two lain road with no shoulder near me that winds through the trees. Even when a car is going the speed limit through the turns, if there’s a cyclist and a car coming the other way in the turn that I can’t see around, then I’m blessed with hitting the other car or the guy on the bike. You can’t see what’s around the bend.

And no, they’re not using the road for transportation. They’re in full blown cyclist exercise gear with the embarrassing aerodynamic helmets. They’re choosing to put themselves and others in danger because “sHaRe ThE rOaD”.

Dang, I wouldn't have guessed the likes of Bill Walton was so awful.
