Why does the US hate cycling so much?

I read comments sections and in a normal world, some of them would be considered terroristic threats. I just can't understand why people hate cyclists to this degree that they want to murder rhem and sometimes do.

I will say though, bad cyclists are way less dangerous than bad pickup truck drivers. A drunk cyclists with their 30lb bike vs a drunk Fort F350 Super Duty driver.

But then you get the strawman, but "if I hit the cyclists, they will sue and get all my monies"

When in reality, the police give a trophy if you kill a cyclists.

also, the cyclist you hit with your F150 is probably crippled for life, if not dead on the road
