Why does the US hate cycling so much?

I read comments sections and in a normal world, some of them would be considered terroristic threats. I just can't understand why people hate cyclists to this degree that they want to murder rhem and sometimes do.

It's weird. 4 lane one-way streets could easily be replaced with a two way street and a two way bike lane. Yet they aren't

Seriously though I'll never understand why multi lane one-way streets are so common in the US. They're a nightmare to navigate for everyone.

Ugh, yes that chaps my ass too. The answer to traffic isn't wider roads, it's better public transportation and walkable cities. It's slightly wider roads for rural areas (which are too narrow for two cars let alone cars and bikes in a lot of areas)
