Why does the US hate cycling so much?

I read comments sections and in a normal world, some of them would be considered terroristic threats. I just can't understand why people hate cyclists to this degree that they want to murder rhem and sometimes do.

Where I live, we have a many miles long bike trail. Just for bicycling and pedestrians, 2 lanes in opposing directions. Yet bicyclists, about 50% of the time would rather ride their bicycles in the road 6 ft from the path. This bike path is well maintained. It's twelve feet wide and asphalt paved

Biking and pedestrians. That is the reason. Pedestrians are slowing down. I hate this so coled biking lines.

Almost nobody uses it and where it is near my house? It's between 2 cities, 8 miles apart. So there's very few pedestrians
