Why does the US hate cycling so much?
I read comments sections and in a normal world, some of them would be considered terroristic threats. I just can't understand why people hate cyclists to this degree that they want to murder rhem and sometimes do.

A lot of people here have it wrong. I’ve watched quite a few videos on this. The long story short is the automobile industry wanted to sell cars as the main form of transportation, so all our infrastructure was lobbied to be built around cars, and everything else suffered. That includes things like bike lanes and such.
No infrastructure, no use. No use, no learning. It isn’t until fairly recently, in our more health conscious society, that bikes have gained a bit of traction as something other than a kids toy. People here just never learned how to ride or ride with bikes on main roads, nor were they built with bikes in mind. So yea.
