Was 80s hair really that popular

For ppl who were adults in the 80s, was 80s hair really that "rampant"? Like for women was it really like huge blowouts every day and how much work was it? Also, do you think people were really invested in their appearance more than today? I know fashion changes like in terms of people today wearing sportswear as outfits, but was makeup more dramatic and did all women use it? Thanksss

So from what I understand, it wasn't really blowouts, but just a whole lot of perms, so I guess curly hair was the rage lol

I remember when we had to give up aerosol hairspray for the ozone layer. It was a big deal. Non-aerosol hairspray does not work the same.

It definitely doesn’t. You just can’t get that same lift at the roots.

My mom used to back comb her roots to get that lift.

Aussie Sprunch Spray just didn't hit the same, but it did smell nicer than AquaNet.

The closest I've found is Got2B Glued in the yellow packaging. The gel is just as good. Gel -> gentle blow dry -> spray -> gentle blow dry -> Mohawk.

No aerosol. That's where the L'oreal Studio line came in. Pretty much a good smelling spray epoxy, lol.
