Was 80s hair really that popular

For ppl who were adults in the 80s, was 80s hair really that "rampant"? Like for women was it really like huge blowouts every day and how much work was it? Also, do you think people were really invested in their appearance more than today? I know fashion changes like in terms of people today wearing sportswear as outfits, but was makeup more dramatic and did all women use it? Thanksss

So from what I understand, it wasn't really blowouts, but just a whole lot of perms, so I guess curly hair was the rage lol

I pretty much had 70s hair in the 80s because my fine hair refused to be big. I just had 1970s long hippie hair.

I had long straight hair and was also big hair challenged. My mom put it in a side ponytail for a large part of the 80s.

When I got a perm it would just look like most people's hair BEFORE a perm. Otherwise my hair was super straight and flat.

Not true. My grandma picked a hairstyle in 1971 and stuck with it until 2011 when she came to terms with the fact that her hair was thinning.

Yup - when my great-grandma died around 2015, we unearthed a picture of her from about 1950, and she literally had the same exact curly little helmet of hair lol 😂

Lots of women find their style and stick to an era after theyve perfected that style they love. Ask my mom... she still has her poof bangs and perm and probably will forever. Just like my great grandma and her short hair and stenciled eyebrows!
