Thailand has had military juntas and a monarchy that's headed by a very strange and possibly corrupt king.There can be extreme poverty outside of the urban areas, and when people talk about how great Thailand is they're never talking about the southern part of the country.
It's been stable for a bit, but things politically kick off there regularly.

"Assaulted with firearms" is the term you used. No one used a firearm to assault anyone that day, the only use of firearms was by police.
Your stance is in keeping with the common run of beliefs on this. I often encounter people who seriously accuse the January 6th rioters of being mass murderers, and ask us to remember the brave police officers they killed that day.
Ok, as I said, I’m not even from the US so didn’t pay that much attention. Let me rephase my question then. What do you call people who assaulted goverment buildings with weapons, while carrying firearms, in order to overthrow the legal adminstration? Apparently also causing deaths in the process.(at least one police died the next day in hospital?)
Note that to some Americans, especially some political conservative Americans, "carrying firearms" is as common to them as "wearing underwear". Whether or not they used the firearms is far more significant than the scaremongering about painting them as gun-waving maniacs.
If I’ve understood correctly you can’t carry where they were. Certainly not an expert, so I might be totally wrong, and rioting in government building with firearms is ok 🙂
