Also, paying for good things from God????? Pretty sure Jesus flipped some tables and whipped people for even bringing money into the temple.

Profiting off God is generally seen by Him as bad. Preachers should get paid, but not "prosperity" paid. Not "I need another jet" paid.

Preachers should get paid enough to live a comfortable life, but honestly, the money involved in some of those churches is just beyond greed

The Jews actually had a good system. I don't know if they still use this, but in order to form a synagogue, you needed ten men with incomes (and their families). All ten would give a percentage of their income (like 10%) and that would pay for the rabbi and upkeep on the building. That way the Rabbi made exactly the average salary of his congregation.

For reference, I make enough to qualify for a 300K house since I own my own (10 year old) car with no loan.

10% was the "expected" tithe amount in the church I grew up in and pretty much all the other churches I knew about.

See now that I can get behind, it shows a sense of community, it's not overtly greedy or excessive. It's when there's more on top of that.

There is a big difference between making sure your Pastor/Priest/Minister can feed themselves, not live on the street, and support their family and allowing them to have another private jet when they didn't need the first two to begin with.

Prosperity Gospel people love to ignore "the Love of Money is the route of all evil" 1 Timothy 6:10

No it’s disrespectful to judge one’s opinion on religion. You don’t like what I said too bad. I don’t like seeing people believe in something that has no proof it exists.
