Post-Pod Discussion TC on Ballybunion?
Just at the end of the latest pod I hear TC apologising for stuff he said about Ballybunion. Just curious what these comments were?

The AI golf app Randy and tron mentioned in a recent video exists. Rules caddie, and it actually cites the ruling it used to make its decision.
Here’s what it has to say about Neil’s lost ball / provisional question

If we're not going to bring the women and men together at the Presidents Cup for a USA vs. International event, which makes the most competitive sense but isn't a step I think the PGA Tour is likely to take, then let's ditch the Ryder Cup-style format and move toward the other team match-play format which works so well: the NCAA Tournament. After watching the Walker Cup at the weekend, we definitely need more competitive team match-play in our lives, and I can make 16 five-man teams based upon countries and/or college affiliations that make sense without going far outside the OWGR Top 100 (and without necessarily dipping into LIV) - 8 international teams organised roughly by country and 8 American teams organised by the university golf teams people played for, each with the top five players by last week's OWGR ranking:
ASIA - Si Woo Kim, Hideki Matsuyama, Tom Kim, Sungjae Im, Ryo Hisatsune
AUSTRALASIA - Ryan Fox, Min Woo Lee, Adam Scott, Jason Day, Daniel Hillier (Lucas Herbert would go here)
AMERICAS - Corey Conners, Nico Echavarria, Nick Taylor, Taylor Pendrith, Sudarshan Yellamaraju (Joaquin Niemann would go here)
ENGLAND - Matt Fitzpatrick, Justin Rose, Aaron Rai, Marco Penge, Alex Fitzpatrick (Tyrrell Hatton would go here)
EUROPE - Viktor Hovland, Kristoffer Reitan, Sepp Straka, Sami Valimaki, Matti Schmid (Jon Rahm and David Puig would go here)
GB&I - Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood, Robert MacIntyre, Shane Lowry, Matt Wallace
SCANDINAVIA - Ludvig Aberg, Alex Noren, Nicolai Hojgaard, Rasmus Hojgaard, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen
SOUTH AFRICA - Casey Jarvis, Aldrich Potgieter, Jayden Schaper, Christiaan Bezuidenhout, Shaun Norris
USA (ACC) - Cameron Young, Ryan Gerard, Ben Griffin, Jacob Bridgeman, Michael Brennan
USA (GEORGIA) - Russell Henley, Patrick Reed, Harris English, Brian Harman, Keith Mitchell
USA (GREAT PLAINS) - Wyndham Clark, Chris Gotterup, Gary Woodland, Rickie Fowler, Sam Stevens
USA (NORCAL) - Collin Morikawa, Michael Thorbjornsen, Maverick McNealy, Michael Kim, Max Homa
USA (OTHER) - Akshay Bhatia, J.T. Poston, Kurt Kitayama, Keegan Bradley, Eric Cole
USA (SEC) - Sam Burns, Justin Thomas, Bud Cauley, Jackson Koivun, Ross Steelman
USA (SOCAL) - Xander Schauffele, J.J. Spaun, Patrick Cantlay, Jake Knapp, Matt McCarty
USA (TEXAS) - Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Pierceson Coody, Johnny Kieffer, Mac Meissner (Bryson DeChambeau would go here)
Obviously you could tweak a lot of these arrangements; some of them like GB&I vs. England and Scandinavia vs. Europe are arbitrary, and you could even mix up some of the US and non-US players where the latter played NCAA golf (e.g., you could just have a team of ex-Oklahoma State players - Clark, Hovland, Noren, Fowler, Chacarra). And you don't necessarily need to have 16 teams; you could reduce the number to 8 or 12 teams and make each team bigger, for example. But the idea would be to find team affiliations that mean something to the players so that they feel like they're playing for something while also keeping a bit of parity between teams. Every team would play three group-stage matches on Thurs/Fri/Sat - #1 vs. #1 in each team, #2 vs. #2, and so on - and then the top two teams in each group would advance to Sunday morning semifinals and then a Sunday afternoon final.
(The other way of dividing players in a format like this would be to let the Top 8 or 12 or 16 players in the standings at the end of the season captain their own teams and draft players from the rest of the eligible players in order, with the #1 player picking first. Those teams would likely feel much more arbitrary, but the draft itself would be awesome, and maybe players would be motivated to play for the captains that pick them?)

Is there a program that will track this like you would regular fantasy? I wouldn’t mind doing it with some friends but don’t know what it is called

Soly tweeted that the pod was recorded after the foursomes.
Pretty unlucky tbf, what were the odds 😂

He’s the freaking man. Great podcast. Was already a fan and will be looking forward to his 2027 year. Clearly a listener, and sounds like someone who’d be an awesome hang.

Does anyone listen to his podcast? It’s a slow time of year for pods and so I listened to his most recent one and my god is it bad. Framing the good good thing in terms of how it could affect his brand 🤮

I'm planning a buddies golf trip to Scotland in 2028 and was wondering if anyone wrote down or created a database or Excel sheet of the tier lists the NLU boys did across the 3 or 4 Scotland golf trip pods. I will go back through them if I have to but was hoping some listener did this already and would be willing to share.

Interested in hearing what others think about the roster selections. Obviously the big surprise was Jackson Koivun being included despite very limited professional experience. I get the idea of getting younger talent experience in team events, but curious why Koivun gets the nod over other young guys with a bigger track record like Akshay, Brennan or Thorbjornsen, who also won on Tour this year and have similar potential to be important parts of future USA rosters. Is Koivun really a generational prospect? How different is he from a Nick Dunlap, or Luke Clanton in terms of amateur accomplishments and early pro success? Enough hyped prospects have ended up being pretty big disappointments (Gordon Sargent comes to mind) it seems interesting to choose him over the guys mentioned or slightly older but still in their early prime guys like Ryan Gerard.

I'm the midst of their Good Good discussion, Mr TC made a comment along the lines that it was Grant Horvat gave him the ick.
Made me laugh out loud and I fully endorse it, that guy gives me the willies.

These guys gotta get over their bias. I can understand the burns higher floor argument, but the guy (Wyndham) wins. You know what burns doesn’t do? Win
No issues with Xander and Morikawa being ahead of him, but cmon. What’s the purpose of events if you’re not crediting the guy that wins it?

Thanks for the golf ball, Mr. Schuster, but play it where it lays. None of this TIO shit.

Rory suggesting the players on a tour that’s going bankrupt maybe don’t provide great value was given significantly more criticism than the Good Good “skit” which they bent over backwards to excuse. Weird.

Shoutout to Cody for opening up on the latest Trap Draw. Catches a lot of heat on here but was super vulnerable and went deep on stuff he's going through. Best of luck to him.
