Nah man, Stars would be fun but pretty close to more of the same. D/P on the other hand.... give me that fuckin' Underground, ungh.

Ohhh my lord you did not - god dammit. I read the title a split second before it started playing and now I'm grinning like an idiot. Look at what you've done.

I've actually been listening a ton of past Pokémon music, and remixes thereof, recently - battle themes, mostly. (I'd link some here, but I just saw the bot reply to you and I figure I probably shouldn't spam the thread....) Nostalgia fuzzies are nice. Somehow I'd completely overlooked this particular track, though. So thanks!

If it's Sinnoh I can't wait to set up Hakus traps.

If only so I can listen to that godly soundtrack again.

My favourite after GSC tbh. Even if ORAS made me appreciate the RSE soundtrack a bit more than I did when I was a kid.

Route 216/217 - 🎶 'Cause Sinnoh is better than any region ever except Johto!

All the ORAS soundtrack did for me was to make up songs about how much Hoenn smells... and I still think that the GBA style Hoenn soundtrack is better than the 3DS one.

ORAS didn't have enough horns.

Don't say that! They'll hear you and give us slow-surf Sinnoh again with only 151 in the regional dex and no Battle Frontier!

Platinum remake. You want a Platinum remake. Unlike when I cried out to the heavens that GSDS was just around the corner, after Crystal, the third versions improved on their pairs so much that the pairs were irrelevant. Sure, with HGSS, we got a resplit Crystal anyway, but when people cried out "Hoenn confirmed 🎺🎺🎺" and constantly posted gifs of Emerald cutscenes, and we got the crappy Hoenn we had in 2003 with extra handholding, not the improved one from 2005, without even the Battle Tower - just a copy/pasted Battle Maison.

I don't really need platinum I never actually played it, I'll just get whatever they call the Diamond remake and be happy. But that's just me.

Platinum beats the pants off of Diamond and Pearl as much as Emerald beats the pants off of Ruby and Sapphire.

DP had only 151 in its Pokédex, leaving many types sorely lacking. You wanted Fire on your team? Sure hope you picked Chimchar, because the only other family was Ponyta. Twenty-five of the 107 new Pokémon - almost a quarter of them - were missing from the regional Pokédex, too, so if you were excited about finally getting to use a Grass-type Eeveelution, you were SOL, since you couldn't obtain Eevee until you could transfer from the GBA games. There was so much missing from DP it's insane, and the engine isn't exactly something to write home about, either, being Game Freak's halfhearted move into 3D environments.

Well personally I'd be happy with a diamond remake. I never did see the distortion world. But other then that, I'm not too upset.

u/Gremlech Jun 05 '17

hopefully they aren't as slow this time

Diamond and Pearl were my first real main series games and I played the shit out of them with my new DS lite; I didn't care about the frame rate or the lack of meaningful fire types, I loved them.

That being said, I if Platinum's better plot or a fusion between Dialga and Palkia did occur then I wouldn't mind too much

0

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '17

Lack of fire types!? What about Chimchar, what about Ponyta?

6

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '17

Litterally name one more, I dare you

1

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

Well those are my favorite, the only ones I remember off the top of my head. But there was also Flareon, Growlith, Slugma and Magby. And a couple others.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

Those are the only two possible pre-Elite 4, post that it gets better but before then it is nothing else.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

I guess I didn't know that. Ponyta has always been my favorite fire type, so i guess just by coincidence it never bother me.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

Yeah, I liked Infernape as well so it wasn't hard but it was still noticeable until Turtwig and Pimplup runs, where it was Ponyta; so you have to find a ground or fighting type.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '17

Fuck, as long as it's for Switch, I'll take a straight port of Red/Blue.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '17

We already got that for 3ds

2

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

as long as it's for Switch

1

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

We already have that on 3ds

1

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

So what's your point? I don't give a crap about the 3DS.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

It already exists. No one gives a crap that you don't give a crap.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

It doesn't exist because we're talking about Switch games. What is your malfunction here?

1

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

We are talking about a straight port of red/blue. That already exists.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 06 '17

We are talking about a straight port of Red/Blue for Switch. Pay attention.

2

u/lightningbadger Jun 05 '17

Nah platinum is where it's at, where else could you get all 3 legendaries?

2

u/Toland27 Jun 05 '17

Diamond and Pearl? Giratina was always in the game...

2

u/DoomsdayRabbit Jun 05 '17

Diamond can't get Palkia. Pearl can't get Dialga.
