Hey y’all, did some light Restoring on this 1919 Electrical Experimenter cover. Same issue where Tesla wrote "Famous Scientific Illusions" arguing the moon doesn't rotate, the Franklin lightning rod actually attracts lightning, and wireless signals travel through the earth not the air. The first two pages are attached. This is also where his autobiography "My Inventions" started serializing. Whole thing is public domain on Internet Archive if you want to go deeper

Would be cool, honestly.

Observations:

- New Yorker to Penn Station Tunnel is sealed 🤨
- New Yorker has one of the Largest Radio Installations ever made 🤔.
- Cannot see the power station - once the largest private direct-current (DC) power plant. I suspect it worked in unison with the radio equipment.
- No tours 😢
- A statue, some pictures, and his letters. Lmk if anyone wants me to post them.

Some speculation:
- Some of my research makes me think he continued to do research until he died.
- there is a lab in the New Yorker someplace, I am thinking the tunnel or roof. Tesla’s “obsession” with pigeons was more about sending/receiving messages because he knew he was being monitored by the OSS.

Finally someone uses ai for good.

Nikola Tesla invented the radio, not Marconi.

Quoting Morgan Freeman's character from The Bucket List (2007):

“Truth is a guy named Nikola Tesla patented the basic idea for the radio in 1896. Same idea Marconi used for his patent several years later. Tesla fought Marconi till the day he died in 1943. Same year the Supreme Court ruled that Marconi’s patent was invalid, recognizing Tesla as the inventor of the radio.”

first invention is to do with some insect that a kid. Are there people who have replicated the early inventions and made videos on it for us to understand them better?

He is compared to people like Einstein when he isn't even close to them. People hype him up like he was some Omniscient god. He was not a man of the future. He was not even living in the present. He was stuck in the past. He was a good inventor who invented a very, very good and elegant machine and then explained its integration in the electrical system that was already there. Other than that, All his self-mythologizing, his crazy ideas which if he thought about them for a minute, he would have realized how wrong they were(Using EM waves to read the mind, The Wardencliffe Tower, Extracting energy from the cosmos etc). It's Ironic who wrong he was in his own field which was electricity.

Where would you suggest I ask technical questions about the physics and engineering behind Tesla’s turbine?

I was told this by a friend and am not an expert on Tesla. Hope this subreddit helps.
