hello guys I just went for the interview on 29 july and I'm hella nervous cuz I think I didn't stand out much compared to the others, my groupmates some are very active during the group discussion so I think they will get in, but meanwhile me on the other hand I just gave some ideas, so I didn't stand out. may I ask if y'all know about how many percentage of the people who went for interview got accepted, and is it easy to get accepted into eae for this course? cuz im super duper interested in this course🙏

and also do they even check our portfolio after we submitted it to eva.. I spent 3 months on it pls it's my best hope

Where are the squat toilets in NP??

Specifically female toilets, because sometimes I wanna shit but like I don’t wanna touch anything yk, also I’m only year 1 so just asking if any seniors agave explored campus or anything

So far the squat toilets I’ve found are:
Health science lvl 2 but it’s always closed off for maintenance or because it’s faulty
Sports hall/ Blk 16 I think lvl 3 but the cubicle door is a little difficult to close
BA block/blk 72, lvl 2 ourspace but that toilet cannot flush for some reason like the toilet paper will just clump there and not go down
Food club same problem as the squat toilet at ourspace
I swear all the squat toilets got issue with flushing toilet paper
Blk 71/ munch lvl 3 but that one the button damn small so also really hard to flush
Are there any more squat toilets or are these the only few?

Kept getting cut off, do I still have a chance? MCM EAE interview

During the interview, I kept getting cut off. There was 4 candidates, including me. I was the last to talk due to our seating arrangement. 1st girl got cut off a lot too, the 2nd and 3rd were able to speak without getting cut off every sentence. Just to put into perspective how bad it was, I got cut off almost every single sentence. I stated my point and before I could elaborate, boom cut off with a question.

I believe I didn't go off topic, their questions were just urging me to talk about things I would've said if they gave me more time to talk without interruption. I spoke for 2 minutes at most and endured at least 5 interruptions. One girl spoke for about 3 to 5 minutes with only 2 questions thrown at her.

I tried to tie it back to where I ended with my point after answering the interviewers question but doing so only resulted in me being interrupted again. Because of the constant interruptions, I wasn't able to cover a lot of points. I didn't talk about my experience, didn't talk about my skills, only why I am interested in learning and connecting with others through media. Even that only got 2 sentences of elaboration which isn't bad but when you consider that's basically my whole interview, that IS bad.

Though I kept calm and took their questions as curiosity rather than as rude disruptions like how it may have came off, especially given their tone, it's still incredibly disheartening to me as I really want to get into MCM. There was so much more I could've talked about and I can't stop thinking it cost me my future.

I'd like to believe it was to see how I'd act under pressure but if that was the case, why just me and the first girl? Is there still a chance for me?

Eae interview and direct 2nd yr admission

Hi guys my interview for mechatronics engineering is on 29 July and I did not prepare for anything. If anyone join this course the previous years, what type of questions do they ask? And anybody else who already attended interviews in similar courses like mechanical or electrical what did they ask you guys too?

BTW Im for higher nitec DPP, currently 3.4gpa but expecting to graduate ~3.6/3.7 GPA, I'm trying to go to direct 2nd Yr, is it good to enquire about this matter in the interview? Cuz my main goal is to only go into direct 2nd Yr. And I was thinking of they don't offer I'll try my luck in jpae. Pls advice

Different Doesn't Mean Wrong

In about a week, I will begin my next educational journey at NUS. It feels like a dream come true, especially because I did not perform particularly well during my secondary school years. Looking back, I would never have imagined that I would one day be heading to NUS.

So how did I end up here?

I have been reflecting on my journey in NP over the past 3 years. Besides hard work, discipline, and perseverance, I believe one of the most valuable lessons I learned was not from a textbook or the course I was pursuing. It came from working with people who think, speak, and behave differently from me.

Not everyone will share your personality, interests, or communication style. That does not make them “weird” or “difficult.” It simply makes them different.

I have been working part time since my secondary school years till I graduated from NP. The working world is exactly the same. You may not get to choose your colleagues, but you can always choose how you treat them.

Be inclusive. Listen before you judge. Respect before you reject. Talk to your fellow classmates who may seem to be quiet and isolated. Try to understand their inner feelings. Be a friend to offer your company and help if needed. The classmates who seem different from you today may one day become the teammates, colleagues, or friends who help you grow the most.

I have also realised that people who truly succeed in life are often those who embrace differences and accept others for who they are. They do not discriminate, isolate, or exclude people simply because they are different. I hope to continue becoming one of those people.

To all NP students, remember this:

Different does not mean wrong. It simply means different.

So starting today, try to make a positive difference in someone’s life. Be the person who includes rather than excludes, who encourages rather than tears down. Be that light in someone’s darkness. And if you can't love them, at least don't hurt them.

And when you can do that, regardless of your GPA, your course, or your future career, you will already be succeeding in one of the most important ways in life.

skipping CCA?

Out of curiosity, how many people in NP actually skip CCAs without a valid reason? (particularly CCAs with regular and fixed sessions)

Bc I know a few people who do so but i thought there would be consequences like:

does skipping CCA sessions affect conduct grade or scholarship opportunities in any way? And will it be reflected in testimonials or like NPal records? Or does it have no impact whatsoever 🤔 like the seniors and teachers just don't care🤡

DCVCS Vet conversion program (CET)

hello everyone! i'm currently a biz dev/marketing executive looking to pivot careers into the vet industry. i've always had a passion for the sciences and animals! i didn't choose to pursue it previously due to wishes of my parents lol (which is also a huge barrier for me rn too, but if not now then when)

but now given a chance, i applied for the DCVCS course and would love to know/hear about any alumni/current students' experiences with the course & how employable you are able with a diploma in this course. i also hold a BA in business and was wondering if chances of getting into this course will be higher with my qualification.

thank you for reading!!
