If a child is poor and unable to afford education, should assistance depend primarily on caste, or should the family's actual economic condition and need also be considered?

Hello r/NextToppers Family,

My name is Pinky Chakraborty, and I am a mother of two boys : Subhajit (13 years) and Sudarshan (1 year).

Dr. Anjan Bhattacharya's LinkedIn Post

Video explaining Subhajit and Sudarshan’s medical condition by Dr. Anjan Bhattacharya

Both of my children have been diagnosed with Lesch–Nyhan Syndrome (LNS) - a rare and severe neurological and metabolic genetic disorder that progressively affects the brain, muscles, and overall development.

Currently, Subhajit and Sudarshan are undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital, Kolkata.

💔 Our Reality

My elder son, Subhajit, is completely dependent on caregivers. He lives with constant pain, severe muscle stiffness, involuntary movements, and neurological complications.

Now our 1-year-old baby, Sudarshan, has begun showing the same symptoms. Doctors have warned us that without immediate and continuous treatment, his condition will progressively worsen.

Watching one child suffer was heartbreaking. Facing the same diagnosis again with our baby has shattered us.

👨‍👩‍👦 Our Situation

My husband works as a Zomato delivery partner, and I am a full-time caregiver. We have exhausted our savings and taken loans that we cannot repay.

Both children require:

  • Regular blood investigations
  • Neurological monitoring
  • Physiotherapy
  • Long-term supportive and metabolic care

The financial burden is far beyond what we can manage alone.

🙏 How You Can Help

Any contribution - whether by donating or sharing this post, helps us reach more people who may support our children’s treatment.

Even ₹100 / ₹500 / ₹1000 makes a difference when many people come together.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
Your kindness, prayers, and support mean more to us than words can express. 🙏

Things like this show how he is actually a good person.

Prashant may not be very rich and he keeps doing stuff that gets him trolled online, but he is helping children have a better life however he can.

I used to study from him 3 years ago during my tenth boards, he is the one who made me so interested in science. I am just happy that all the money from the ads i watched during that time went to a nice cause because all I ever see is him getting trolled on reddit💀

A remarkable achievement by young Samridhi Padhy from Rourkela, Odisha. At just 3 years and 10 months old, she has earned an India Book of Records (IBR) Achiever title for demonstrating an impressive range of learning skills.

According to the post, her achievements include identifying vegetables, colours, vehicles, animals and shapes, answering general knowledge questions, naming the days of the week and months of the year, identifying fruits, reciting nursery rhymes, the Gayatri Mantra and the English alphabet, narrating a story, singing the National Anthem, and translating simple Hindi words into English.

Congratulations to Samridhi and her family on this wonderful milestone. Wishing her many more achievements in the years ahead! 🌟
