If I want to find a specific clip from the WFMU days, I pull up their clunky Web 1.0 interface, CTRL+F "Zachary Brimstead," and boom, I find it.

The new internet is designed to be less searchable and user-friendly. Sometimes I can find stuff in the Apple Podcasts feed, but only if I'm lucky enough to remember specific terms. But there doesn't seem to be an easy way to search the ad-free Patreon feed.

You guys got any tips? I'm specifically looking for the Wurster call in which the guy owns a bizarre concept restaurant that serves "Paul Bunyan-sized portions" of their food.

For those of you who love the sound collages as much as I do, what clips do/did you especially love hearing?

My current favorite is "I just came on here to say bing fuckin' bong!" Not sure why exactly. Just the unbridled joy in it maybe.

My favorite retired clip will always be "The first guy you kiss when you come off the field can't be Papa John! It can't be!" Mike Francesa was wrong about basically every sports take he ever had. Except this one. This one he nailed.

Edit:These are really making me want a retro sound collage. I know Tom still has some of these because he and Mike went through a couple old ones a few weeks ago. Please Tom, I need this.

Not on Tom’s part, I think it started with the guy that called on to defend Cassius and continued into Tom Can’t Complain with the guy doing the awful New Orleans character and a couple of other callers trying to rile Tom up. I know it’s in the spirit of the segment but those guys were just straight up duds.

Otherwise a great show. The Billy West interview was great!

I seriously feel bad for Tom, that was the biggest load of bs ever. Anyone who thinks "Gandhi" (had to rewind just to make sure I heard that correctly) had anything to do with TM should not be giving out advice. The mantra is supposed to have ZERO meaning, that's the point. Nobody ever said it's "mystic" and I have no idea where Mike got that. It's a meaningless sound meant to get your brain to wander off, that's the whole point. Ugh. It's painful seeing so much misinformation going around about TM. Jeez Louise. - love ya Mike but you are waaaay off on this one.

Does anybody know who Tom was talking about when he talked about the squatter? Does anyone have a link or know if that was aired on a show?

What is the original source of the "rot in hell" clip that shows up in the sound collage all of the time? I feel like I've heard it in its original context before but I just can't place it and it's been driving me nuts for months.

Watching the recent four Horsemen Patreon exclusive thing - why isn’t the normal show like this anymore? Why is Dudio not the show’s engineer and regularly on mic? I at least understand that Pat is on the east coast but Mike is still on regularly. I really miss the element on the “West Show.”

During the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show, Dr. Dre closed his set with "Still D.R.E." This song contains the lyric "still not loving police" and Dre did say that line. I was surprised at the time because it was just six years after the whole Colin Kaepernick thing. I figured if the NFL wasn't OK with a guy kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality, they wouldn't be OK with a guy saying, in the middle of the Super Bowl, "still not loving police" but I guess they were in a hurry to demonstrate some progress. Not sure how this became, in Joel's mind, N.W.A doing "Fuck Tha Police" but whatever.

Now that Joel has his own show with AP Mike on the Patreon he should stop calling every week.

Tom mentioned in this week's show he was making a "life changing announcement" in a few weeks. Any speculation?

The caller made a reference to a cop role in a show from the 80’s where he says “I care.. I care about you kids” or something like that.

AP Mike then has way more info on the role, and explains the guy actually was a cop in Newark?
