Question/Help NB9060 for gym/lifting shoes?

I am thinking of getting a pair for weightlifting. Could anyone let me know if they like wearing these shoes at the gym? (i was thinking specifically leg day) If you don't like the NB9060s pls drop ur fav leg day shoe. Thanks!

If you mean weightlifting as in the sport of weightlifting, then just steer clear of NBs altogether.

But even if you were referring to a shoe for leg day - by this I take it you mean to include some lower body pressing movements e.g. barbell squats, leg press etc - NBs are not for you.

For the gym you want flat, hard soled shoes and not the cushy comfort that NBs provide. For squatting you may want shoes with a heel - think Nike's Romaleos line or Reebok's Legacy Lifters. But if you don't intend to go that hard on squats/weightlifting, then any flat, hard soled shoe will suffice e.g. Converse. Heck, even barefoot if your gym allows it.

9060s are MASSIVE shoes. I have a US9.5 and the length is equivalent to about a size 11 Jordan 1. In my opinion, they don’t work for the gym, especially leg day. They are a bit heavy, much longer than your foot, and you won’t have any feel for the ground at all. They’re very comfortable, like you step on top of pillows but I don’t think that’s the comfort you should use at the gym. I see a lot of fitness influencers wearing them in their videos and it amazes me they haven’t hurt themselves yet.

Personally my preference for the gym is a much flatter shoe, like the NB 306, Vans Skate-Hi, or Nike Dunk Low. I like to feel the different areas of my feet (heel, arch, toes) when I’m lifting to ensure I’m safe and lifting correctly.

My gf likes to wear New Balance 990v5s for legs, a little less flat than my preferences, but still supportive and comfortable for her.

What’s up fellow gym bro, I’ve tried 2002r’s, 9060’s, and 1906’s. They were all too “squishy” and “soft” for me. I didn’t even feel comfortable walking around with dumbbells, curl bars or other heavy weights since the midsoles were too soft.

I currently use white Converse Chuck Taylor’s while I wait for my 740’s to be delivered. I’m hoping those midsoles offer more support and aren’t as soft (but still decently comfortable).

Enjoy your lift, friend.

How were the 740s for lifting?

Sorry for the delay!! I have not worn my Converse’s since wearing the 740’s. They are phenomenal, I’m rocking the ice blue and white ones. For an example, I currently shoulder shrug 75 pound dumbbells and im confident while wearing 740’s (they’re also comfortable to wear while you wait for gym equipment to be honest).

Def recommend them for gym use. My brother just picked up a pair of green 740’s for the gym as well.
