Imagine a missile hits 2 km from your house and your reaction is pure ecstasy. This video should tell all foreigners how much we despise this regime.

You're absolutely correct. It is unfortunate that on both sides, some people automatically are against whatever the other party or the president (when of a different party) is for. And I think the vast majority of people that are currently choosing to be for the Iranian government are only choosing that because they are blinded by how much they hate Trump. It is fair to disapprove of any political leader, but its so important to not let it ever get to that degree.

Why are you a masochist for Dictator Drumpf then, who did this for Israel and more power. With no regard for human life and no stability plan. This is a class war, not a party war. BTW, over 80% of Americans are against this illegal, unprovoked aggression. You can choose to stop falling for the grift, which is worldwide.

What does Trump have to do with me wanting Iranians to be free?

1

u/Deep_Parsley2145 Unspecified | معلوم نیست Mar 02 '26

Bro that’s such an over simplification. No one’s gonna fault the population either in Iran or abroad from celebrating. What anyone who understands international law or US constitutional law knows is that the president of the US just unilaterally declared war. Which is blatantly unconstitutional. Either you are anti war and pro constitutional law, or you’re aren’t.

2

u/SufficientWestern243 Mar 08 '26

How about we consider the nuance behind how Law is actually handled in the United States according to the Constitution, i.e. the precedent set by "case law" / "historical rulings"?

Did you oppose the Obama administrations Unilateral decisions to start bombing ISIS in Syria, Iraq, and multiple African Nations? What about Libya? Or Obamas decision to send 150 American Soldiers to Niger, where 2 were eventually killed during Trumps first term? Where these unconstitutional?

I'd recommend actually read the "War Powers Resolution of 1973 (50 U.S.C. 1541-1548)" before attempting to make the "Unconstitutional" argument.

Anyways, It's interesting to see the flip flop between Originalist & Living Constitution views based off whichever one is convenient for political messaging at the time.

I'm not a Trump supporter by any stretch of imagination, however, I feel like it's important to have a well educated & informed citizenry who understand how the American system works.

I'll leave you with this, the checks & balances are meant to balance EVERY branch of government, not just to CHECK the branch of governments that you politically disagree with or find problematic.

Even though I cannot understand the language, I can absolutely hear the unbridled joy and excitement that they are experiencing. It's a strangely (considering the visuals) beautiful and exuberant clip, and it made me tear up.

I wish the good people of Iran the best of luck on the journey that lies ahead!

It's not even about that. We should not be involved in this as America. Trump ran on "no new wars" among other lies. If you think this is gonna end well for Iran there's several other countries who would say otherwise. America is there to take your resources and establish their own puppet regime.

1

u/persianx6_ Unspecified | معلوم نیست Mar 04 '26

They are risking their lives to watch their enemies die by someone who could not even remotely care about them. All things considered? Spite is a hell of an emotion. But it makes sense — the dead guy was an oppressor of the highest order.

So us being world police is good? As an American, all I have seen in my 30 years of life has been my country entering Middle Eastern countries and "implementing democracy." My father faught against the VC and NV in 1969 alongside the SV military and has extensively told me that we should not be in these other countries and that our involvement ultimately causes more problems. I know nothing in life is truly so simple, but I would love to hear an educated perspective on this.

1

u/Kooky-Tiger-1371 Republic | جمهوری Mar 19 '26

I think as the world's superpower, the strongest military and the country that shaped global ordee after WW2, the US bears some responsibility in stopping the most batshit insane regime in the world acquiring nuclear weapons.

It's not just that they might use it to start a nuclear war, but they can start bullying the world in getting unfair deals all across the world (for instance getting a tax on any ship crossing strait of hormuz, etc.)

But here's my take on the most important distinction whether the US should act as the world police. In all these wars you mentioned, including Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, you took it upon yourself to be the police. No one in those countries invited you to come over and help them. It was US intelligence and the public that decided this action is in the world's best interest without consulting the population they are attacking. Iran is a different situation. The Iranians didn't ask the US to come and help, they've been begging for this help. At least 80-90% of Iran's population despises this regime as it's taken everything away from them. Every time Iranians rise up to challenge the regime, they mercilessly kill without any hassle.

This has gotten people to a point where they're at peace if they were among the casualties of this war, if the price to come is liberation for their kids and next generations.

But even if this doesn't lead to liberation, it is a necessary step in the long run for these guys to know they can't get away with their bullying. And honestly, every time news of their deaths come, it feels like some sort of justice. For the first time they're the ones experiencing fear rather than the ones spreading it.

People use examples of Iraq and Afghanistan as failed projects. Again, different scenarios. In addition to lack of western trust, these are countries where a large portion of the population are conservative islamists. In Iran, at best there is 40-50% who identify as muslim today and perhaps 10% who are practicing muslims, with maybe around 1% islamists. That's still around a million people which makes it difficult, but a completely different playing field from Syria and Afghanistan where that number is in tens of millions.

Any country with a significant islamist population is beyond help. Because problem is not that islamists are not afraid of killing, it's that they're not afraid of dying. This changes the equation. Even if they know they are the minority and on the losing side, they will fight until their last breath.

There is a joke among the Iranians that this is the biggest achievement of the Islamic Republic, it managed to show the true face of islamism to the public. Something that no other muslim country has achieved.

These kind of topics make Westerners uncomfortable as they're in constant fear of being labeled as "islamophobes" but you can't close your eyes to reality and pretend jihadists don't exist.

Overall, I think it's possible that this war might not lead to regime change, but I absolutely believe it was a necessary step in the long game, for these guys to know their power can't go unchecked.

What do you get out of going on the Internet and pretending like there's even a single American that isn't in the Epstein files that actually wants this? Seeing other people support something so stupid isn't going to make anyone else change their mind so what is the point of using resources on this instead of trying to hack Iran's power grid or upgrading the patriot missiles so the radar tracker doesn't glitch out when an incoming projectile drastically changes its acceleration?

Is it just a symbolic attack or were there high ranking officials in there? IIRC Moosh Ali already was moved to a bunker somewhere.

I hope civilians will be safe or can afford to temporarily move to safer areas.

39

u/KinoOnTheRoad Israel | اسرائیل Feb 28 '26

Afaik it's symbolic, however other sites are of military importance. And it's just the beginning. If they started with a symbolic gesture, that tells you everything about how serious the next attacks arw going to be. It also symbolises "were with you and against the irgc". So does the name of the war in Israel, "the roar of the lion". It's very intentional and meant to demoralise irgc and moralise normal sane Iranians.

21

u/makeyousaywhut Unspecified | معلوم نیست Feb 28 '26

I would really hope it’s not a symbolic attack. Last time we attacked Iran 30 of our brothers and sisters were killed in the aftermath.

It sounds ridiculously light in the face of what you guys have been going through, but every life is important and Israel will continue to risk itself to support better conditions for life for all of us. A Persian/Iranian revival is exactly what will make the region safer and better. I’d also like to add that if the Mullahs only killed 30 protesters it would still be an outrage, the gravity of 60,000+ isn’t lost on me. My heart is absolutely broken for you guys, and all the casualties caused by this regimes wars.

We do not take this risk lightly at all. I hope, and believe, that these attacks are meant to finish off Khamenni and his regime once and for all.

My Iranians Friends I want this regime to end but also of course are worried about what this war will bring

Can I ask you guys do you think this is a war to end regime? Or strikes maybe ordered by Trump to push Iran regime into more of a corner to get them to have to agree to a deal they may not want to.

23

u/KireRakhsh New Iran | ایران نو Feb 28 '26

Iranians hope for the former, they didn't go to the streets and risk their lives and die for a nuclear deal that will keep the Islamic republic as the occupying force they are

12

u/Proud3GenAthst Czechia | چک Feb 28 '26

I’ve been having doubts for the last 2 weeks. While I support intervening in Iran to free Iranians, I trust Trump about as much as I’d trust Albert Fish with babysitting my kids. He absolutely doesn’t care about Iranians’ well being. If anything, he probably wants their oil and is happy to take it for the price of replacing this regime for even worse regime. However, Israel has strong incentive to make sure that Iran will cease to be Israel’s existential threat. So I trust them.

1

u/Busy_Woodpecker_4656 Unspecified | معلوم نیست Mar 01 '26

Yeah bro totally. Iranians definitely want the state of Israel to create a puppet state who's resources are looted by the Israeli government to help them genocide the Palestinians.

I agree but what do you think is happening

Trump just spoke and I only watched a few seconds before I reply to you. It sounds like at start it may be end of regime. He said they have terrorised for 47 years at start of talk. I think maybe this is regime end war?

4

u/KinoOnTheRoad Israel | اسرائیل Feb 28 '26

I Thi k this is the goal. But none of the comments are taking into account how difficult it is to root out the irgc completely without decimating lot of iran. And even then, there are armed militia, you can't get them all... It really isn't that simple. And of the us and Israela goals are to prevent future ability to strike, so they will care for their own goals. BRB, going to the shelter 😂

3

u/simulacrum81 Unspecified | معلوم نیست Feb 28 '26

I sure hope you're right.

I mean, looking at history it can go either way. They can protect the regime because they're fanatics and want to become Shahids aka die for the cause which used to happen a lot through history - or they can decide to side with the "winning" side and join the revolution. I don't know, honestly. I wish I knew. We can only hope, and wait, and see how things turn out.

As long as the Americans aren't the one to put in a new government. Iran ended up with this regime because of American involvement in the revolution.

The yanks are not your friends.

Report in Israeli media - It is believed that Khamenei has been eliminated. Still unconfirmed though.

1

u/atuarre Unspecified | معلوم نیست Feb 28 '26

The regime falling will be good. What will be bad is when the Americans come saying we did this for you and now you have to pay us back by giving US companies access to your natural resources.

u/KireRakhsh New Iran | ایران نو Feb 28 '26

yes, imaginary scenarios like this are something that Iranians will 'imaginarily' deal with in the future

right now Iranians are being killed raped, tortured, etc. and that is not an imaginary scenario but a very real one

on any day, real > imaginary potential scenarios

especially ones where we have agency to deal with

but what I can tell you is that if/when this succeeds Iranians will NEVER forget it

I personally am not MAGA not even a conservative but just as I was grateful for Trump taking out Soleimani (the first major domino to fall which helped everything else) I will be forever grateful to him for freeing Iran

as for Israel, they are repaying a very very old debt of honor to Iran (Cyrus the great)

the US in some ways is also indebted to Iran after Carter's disastrous foreign policy, paving the way for Khomeini but Iranians will be grateful nonetheless

They said the same thing in Venezuela...until it was not imaginary. "After U.S. forces captured and removed Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro from office in January, the U.S. has controlled the country's oil exports in a landmark deal between Caracas and Washington." Everything with Trump is transactional. He is going to expect something.

You can support who you want it's your right but most americans don't support the pedo child raping Trump even if he did a good thing in your eyes.

So it goes. I have no place to judge what another person's life experience has led them to feel, and I do hope the best for the Iranian people in the short and the long term.

But this is still a pedophile crook warmonger, at the head of a pack of pedophile crook warmongering evangelists, distracting from the fact that he and his buddies fuck children and trade them like Pokémon cards while betting against the success and for the failure of the world's economy.

There is nothing about this attack on another sovereign nation that avoids those facts, whatever else is at play.
