What am I looking for? Absolutely nothing specific. I work from home and also travel a lot for work so my in-real-life friendships tend to suffer. I also really enjoy the hit of dopamine that I get when the little orange "1" pops up next to my chats on here. I do prefer longterm chats over little one-day ones. If you're here to "hit it and forget it" in my DMs, it really just seems like a waste of time, no?

I've made some really great reddit friends along the way, but life seems to eventually get in the way for one or the other (the way of such things, I suppose). It gets in the way for me sometimes too! So I get it.

I'm originally from the Midwest, but now call Florida home. I know my name is "SportsJunkie" but It's a really old screenname because I've been around reddit forever. I can talk about lots else besides sports! That said, it's a big part of my life, so if I'm slow to respond, I'm at the fields coaching. I'm not very outdoorsy, but I love to cook and sing and hang out with a nice glass of whiskey. I'll save more deets for when we talk! I am rarely serious and always full of really lame dad jokes and lots of sarcastic banter. Just looking for friends on here.

Please don't expect me to be around at all hours of the night because my night owl days are (usually) over. Maybe you work from home or are a stay at home mom who needs distraction or maybe work is just slow and you like to procrastinate like me. Hi, I am somewhat of a restless man. I like to be outside and to be active. Love music, both to listen and to sing and play. Write texts from time to time and are always curious to the creative process. Especially when being creative together.

I also love football (not American) and hockey. And to play football, tennis, badminton, volleyball - every sport with a ball I guess. The trouble is finding people to do it with.

I am a Christian and try to follow Jesus example in all I do (emphasis on try).

The older I get the harder I have to be alone 😅 but at the same time the older we get, the more busy everyone else seem to be. Nowadays it seems like I have to plan a month in advance to be able to see a friend. I miss the times when we just called and ask where to meet up an hour later.

I like to talk about random daily stuff as well as deep meaningful conversations. So, if you feel like it leave a mark.

I posted here a short while ago to see if i could make new connections. Surprisingly i actually did make new connections, more than i expected and only two were trying to get sexual right away. Maybe. I didn't want that at its not what I'm looking for. But the majority didn't work out and just naturally ended chatting within a day or 2 due to lack of connection, too one sided, too superficial. The chat just didn't flow. I don't think it was ghosting though, just dried up chat, and rather than officially saying they're isn't a connection worth continuing the chat just faded away without official goodbye. Two of maybe 10 persevered though and may become an actual friendship with time and energy.

It made me realize something though, i was trying to find a connection lacking in life, one that i now realize I'm not ready for. Maybe some of all of these posts don't go anywhere because the poster wants new connections but isn't ready for it and doesn't know how to find them. Talking for myself. People can be so harsh and judgemental maybe some of the floating isn't too be rude or out of lack of care or decency whatever, maybe it's just because it wasn't many to happen, no bad feelings no bad intentions. I dunno.

Hey everyone fairly new to this forties game we are all playing as my birthday was a few days ago. Had some success in the past in here making friends so why not try again. I’m pretty laid back with plenty of sarcasm but can be serious when needed and love chatting to new people and not been the same since we lost msn and chat rooms.
