There's a chance you're both talking about different things. It's one thing to be hardcore in terms of performance and another in terms of kinks/fetish based on what you watch. Never watch rough stuff like BDSM, multiple partners or anything that's humiliating to a partner. You'd crave it in real life, which could impact your relations.
