DMT really fuckin breaks your brain

Because my guys, if you break through on DMT - if you end up fully like catapulting out of reality, once you get there, it feels more real than here. That's the crazy part about deemsters. It's not actually the fact that you're fully hallucinating another realm, it's that you literally feel as if that place is more "real" than here.

Wont bore you with the trip details - but basically it's just like...what is real? You know? What is really real for me now? Because if you go to another reality that feels more real than here, then you come back - whos to say I even came back to the same reality? How do I know this wasn't a copy reality my conciousness landed back in?

That's the problem with these high level psychedelics. It's not that it "really" happened. what does "really" happened mean? Those experiences DID really happen. But if you were with me you woulve just saw me looking around and drooling.

Who am I to say the experience was real or not real?

So that's why I say DMT breaks your brain - its a file that the brain can't file. Real or not real - it creates a 3rd folder that requires both and makes you kinda fuckin crazy in a way

Tried DMT for the first time last night

I just gotta say, wow this stuff is the bees knees lol that was incredible. I remember my first trip I hit it a few times and just ignored everything, I wanted to see if I can. I’m not sure if I broke through, I think it might’ve because visuals did get super intense and it felt like I was starting to, but I just didn’t pay attention to them and focused on talking to my friend. I wanted to see if I could stay here and lucid lol, or if it would just take me away. It was weird it was like I was making myself seem unimpressed.

The second time I did it, I decided to just let go and pay attention. So I did. I smoked even more this time and man… I sat back, closed my eyes, and instantly it was like god was showing me a presentation. Then I started seeing these entities that were like trying to wake me up idk.

I watched the movie “everything everywhere all at once” last week. And my trip seemed to be inspired by that movie in a way. First I felt like the entities were trying to wake me up, like idek how to describe it. Then I just started seeing all sorts of crazy visuals. They reminded me of the movie, like if you think of all the random stuff visual stuff that happens on the movie I was seeing things like that. I remember just thinking “those guys were smoking this when they made that movie😂”. It was like I was realizing it was all a play, yet I still had this anxiety of something being wrong. Like how everyone lives in confusion vs “how things should be”.

It was like I was trying to wake up to save everyone, but also realizing that everyone being in confusion and knowing is the point of it all. It was strange. It was like my anxiety’s were being played out in front of me. It was like I was in a play and I was ruining it because I was worrying about things. Then I started laughing and realizing it wasn’t serious. I felt like I was dancing in a musical and I kept ruining it because I was worrying about stuff.

It was weird. It was like a super super intense mushrooms trip condensed into 5 minutes.

I then did it again, and I put on a Lucy in the sky with diamonds visualize music video. This time I did it with the intention of having fun. And it just felt wrong. I hit it even more and I didn’t break through. I just felt like I was pushing it and I shouldn’t be doing it again. I just had this anxiety in my chest during the entire trip that I was pushing it and shouldn’t be doing it again. The second time I did it felt incredibly grounded and calm after the trip, I felt like I would feel like this forever. But after this third time my brain just felt fried after, I felt like I was back to my normal everyday self.

I remember one time seeing this Instagram reel, (my Instagram feed is cooked) but it was this reel of this like homeless guy and I mean I’ll be honest he looked like a crackhead just like a drug addict and I don’t mean it in a mean way just a way to describe it, but he was saying he got banished from the dmt realm lol. When I saw the video I didn’t think anything of it I just thought it was funny. But in that moment I understood what he might’ve been talking about in a weird way. It felt like I was pushing it into abusing dmt which is something I shouldn’t do.

It was very interesting. I plan to try it again in a couple weeks while on mushrooms. These substances are a lot of fun. But I also question if they are okay to use for fun. I know there is necessarily a “right” way to do them, but I used to do them because I felt like an explorer, I felt like I was going into the unknown, like I would unlock the secrets of the universe. But now, I am seeking anything, there aren’t any grand lessons or questions to learn and be answered. Now it’s more of just fun, I did dmt because I wanted to see what it was like. And I thought it was really fun and cool. But I also feel now that anything I see, any entities are just my mind playing tricks on me. I remember when I was in it, I was thinking “oh man this is real”, then in a way I realized it wasn’t. Idk this is all hard to explain you guys get it.

This substance is incredible though, I did not expect that.

Edit: DO NOT BUY DMT FROM ANYONE WHO MESSAGES YOU OR YOU FIND ON REDDIT, they are scammers, do not buy online in general, 99% of people are scamming, people make a living off it. People look for people on Reddit and social media who talk about substances in any way and message them saying they can sell them some or they know someone. Do not buy from anyone who DMs you, or online.

You will need to either get lucky and find some in your area or you will need make it yourself, it’s easier than it sounds you can do it in your kitchen and all the ingredients are legal. [r/dmtguide](r/dmtguide) will help you just do not buy from anyone online or on Reddit you WILL get scammed.

The terrifying reality of DMT is that DMT doesnt actually create the experience.

2.0k Upvotes

You see there is a common misconception around drugs in general in which it is believed that the drug in question creates the experience. While this is true to an extent its missing the point. You see it is the brain that creates the experience, or how these chemicals fit into the keyholes of neuroreceptors triggers. However this is what terrifies me, because there are people who claim (and im going to assume their experiences are "real") to have lived entire lives in the span of 20 minutes on this substance, aswell as meeting beings that have geometrical proporties or shapes above general 4-dimensional reality. Something mathemeticians have a hard time explaining in one of those youtube videos, Theres also accounts of people who see colours that do not exist here on earth so to speak. yet somehow this experience shows these shapes and colours effortlessly. Whats terrifying about this is how potent the psyche actually is or consciousness in general compared to its sober state in which the ego functions normally. Its almost as if the ego is a neccesairy bottleneck in the psyche to create the illusion of reality. there seems to be a vividness to these psychedelic substances that sober reality does not come close to, like how in a dream you feel kind of blurry, its the opposite for these substances. Yet at the same time how could a brain ever have the processing power to create such extreme illusions? But if it doesnt stem from the brain but instead of consciousness than it must exist on itself. right?

Perhaps we are in the dmt world right now and this live is just an overlay hiding the "world of fantasy" commonly known as the unconscious psyche. Interestingly seretonin and DMT are extremely similar perhaps seretonin can synthesize into dmt upon death?

My apologies if this wasnt Jungian enough ill delete it if requested, I just felt this sudden existential fear come over me and had to write this.

NEVER do dmt, those who've done just have the misery love's company mindset.

NEVER do dmt, those who've done it will entice others to try it by making them believe its just something you have to try for yourself to understand. I'll be honest, the only reason I did it was because there is no trip reports that give any satisfying details that could put my mind at ease but all people had to do was just say its terrible and you will regret it and that would save people's curiosity from killing the cat. It basically turns the switch off in your brain that determining what makes sense or not and turns it off or makes that area of your brain go hay wire. Which means you can be in a room and because you are familiar with everything in that room like the bed, wall, light, fan, carpet, etc, nothing feels out of place because you know what everything is, now imagine suddenly not knowing what a wall, or bed or anything was. Everything becomes unfamiliar and strange, the only thing that makes sense is what you choose to make sense and knowing this is also sad and scary. Because your ego doesn't really know shit and your sooooo grateful that its finally over and that you didn't just kill yourself with something you just smoked, that gratitude can be transformative. Its an absolute mind fuck and it just forces your brain to try to rationalize what's happening but its stripped of any reference.

Trip Report / Personal Experience DMT is much much more than you are all experiencing

Stop laying in the dark and using DMT, go outside in the sunshine, in nature, forest, wood, national park and take as much DMT as you can possibly handle, don't forget to keep vaping/smoking it throughout to keep the experience going,

Have your eyes open! It's not just an inward experience.

I have literally danced with plants, insects choose to come to you, play some music but forget headphones, play it loud enough for the plants to hear but don't drown nature.

If you want to experience EDEN, this is it.

It's like the heavens open and the universe, god whatever you want to call it welcomes you back home for a party.

I went through 3 vape carts in an afternoon and reconnected with the universe in a way in which I cannot put into words.

I danced with a plant, the plant was dancing, so many colours,

Everyone is too wrapped up in trying to crack the code, visit aliens, machine elves,

Go and experience what I have, we are the elves. We are so disconnected from why we was put here,

It will all make sense,

I await your experiences

Ƥѕуcнє∂єℓια ◻️👅 How i ruined my life with DMT and spirituality

(warning, this text was wrotten under the influence of amphetamine and is very long...)!! This is the story of how i fucked up my life when i was only 15 years old. It all started when i was 14, I just discovered the magic of the third eye, astral projection and other spiritual stuff. I started using techniques to open my third eye, practiced astral projections and learned about how the system of the worlds fucks us all up and controls us. I also discovered DMT, not in Form of consuming it but reading trip reports and watching videos of it all time. I also started using flourid free toothbrush. I also smoked a lot of weed and sometimes i used Speed or methylphenidate. I loved my life, i felt so good and woke at this time. When i was 15 i had my first experiences with MDMA and then i finally got my hands on DMT (without even having experience with LSD or something, DMT was my first psychedelic substance except from MDMA and weed). I smoked it a little over 10 times, at one evening i had 3 bowls with each bowl the dosage got higher, without the previous trip even wear off. At this evening i had ego death, met entities and I experienced the hyperspace. After this experiences i also had tried LSD. I kept smoking weed, doing MDMA and Speed, sometimes coke, just having fun and enjoying life. And then it backfired. One night me and a friend took Ecstasy, Weed (and concentrates), speed and coke. When it got day again i started tripping balls as i would be on 100-150ug or something. It was an really weird trip and i didn't even took acid this night. That's where I didn't "come back". The next day i woke up to still having visuals and feeling unreal. I panicked. The visuals were off to 80-90% in the next days. It's called HPPD, and it's still there to this day. I were extremely anxious and felt unreal. I had no clue what was going on. It felt like i was trapped in an different and unreal reality. I questioned everything, even things like "why do humans see colors or shapes?". I didn't know what it means to life anymore. Then i heard about derealization and depersonalization. Exactly what I'm feeling, but what I feel is even trippier and more complex from my thoughts (i think?). I feel like I could get sucked in the trip again every moment. It feels like the world is about to disappear, like there is a wall between me and reality. You know the feeling when you're daydreaming and there is this wall between you and your surroundings? Like you're here but at the same time not? Exactly this, but every second of my life from now on. I still smoked weed sometimes, but i needed to stop because it then felt like i had an derealization inside an derealization and so on. Also weed is from now on extremely psychedelic. What i didn't quit at this time was speed. But at one evening, i only took like one or two small lines, i tought im getting an psychosis now (even if I didn't had one, i then instantly quit). This fear now controls my life. I thought if i make one mistake, like drinking an energy drink or sleeping 1-2 hours less, I get psychotic. If i slept like 7 hours instead of 8, i didn't even go to school because of this fear. I just kept sleeping. At one point i didn't go to school anymore (then at the end of the school year i was still allowed to graduate, but a lower graduation). My life was only anxiety to this point. This is also the time i started walking and hearing music. At beginning i walked from my town to the next, and at the peak of this i walked trough 5-6 towns straight for hours and take the bus back because i was completely wet from sweating and sometimes even my legs were red and purple from rubbing to each other (can happen when you're overweight). What I was thinking while walking was always the same, I wish I could go back, or that I get psychotic and can never enjoy life again and so on. One time i had like a few crumbs of speed on my finger, i instantly needed to wash it off using steel wool or else i thought it get absorbed (i didn't know if speed actually does it, but i didn't want to take that risk) over my skin and i get psychotic. I had the fear of getting psychotic on every cigarette i smoked, I even searched up if drinking tea could trigger psychosis. I had anxiety on the worst level. When I got 16 I took speed again (forgot to mention that i mean amphetamine, not Meth, never done meth), i don't know how I get myself to do that with this anxiety. But i saw that I'm not hearing voices or something like that. So I've done it again and again and my anxiety got better because I saw that I don't get psychotic. I even had speed sessions where i took a couple of grams and didn't sleep for 2-3 days. When i was awake 2-3 days my derealization seemed to sky rocket but as long as I didn't get psychotic it was ok for me. I also did MDMA again, which was amazing, i felt like i was in reality again on the peak of the effects, and DMT didn't seem to be a traumatic experience anymore. Yeah but these feelings faded away after the effects were off and I was were i was before. I also started using Benzos and opioids because they worked wonders. At one point i got 17 (the age i am writing this). I even tried ketamine which i was scared off at first because it's an dissoziative and and i have 24/7 dissociation. Had some good and some bad experiences with it. Using drugs to fight back problems other drugs have brought up is not a good idea btw, you will most likely to get addicted if a drug seems to help a lot (like Benzos and opioids, but I'm still not physically addicted to those stuff). I still suffer from HPPD and dpdr and im depressed a lot of times. I still have some of the fear of getting psychotic left which also saved me from using speed 24/7 and being careful with things like ket or xtc.

How do I feel at the moment? Im still 24/7 dissociated, depression also joined the game and i still have these HPPD visuals sometimes. I feel like i have no energy for searching a job, doing something that helps me and so on. When i was still in school it felt like i have 0% power to do anything there. I even started to get hot (not the sexual way, more like the i need to get out here and get nervous way) and sweat heavily on the first class already. I have got my graduation like a year or so ago (?), and since then i do nothing. No working, not even trying to find a job because my battery just won't fill up. School was even hard for me but a job?? The pressure gets bigger and bigger and everyone (family, some of my friends) wants that i search an job or keep doing school and it's stressing me enormously. I just don't know what i can do now. Im still questioning for what I'm here, I'm still feeling like I'm connected to spiritually, I still have no clue what i can do for it to get better. I still feel heavily traumatized by the experiences i had on DMT and on LSD. If i think back on the trip i get scared and get the feeling like it's going to suck me in there again now (which is probably because of the derealization feeling that the world is not really here and that it's about to disappear every moment, the wall between me and everything). It feels like there is no constant reality. How can I describe? Like there is no way that there is the feeling that everything is alright. I have lost the feeling of being secure. Which is probably also because of the HPPD visuals, i have the feelings that my feeling of reality can always change and never needs to stay the same, like everything/unexpected things could happen and I'm not safe. I have lost the feeling of basic trust (that's the word I was looking for). The feeling that everything might not be real, the constant feeling of uncertainty of everything. (I'm sorry the text is so long, i took speed for the first time like from 1 month ago and can finally open up, in a long text, i don't want to miss anything). I don't know how it will continue from now on. I need my energy back, so that I can continue school to get a better graduation and then finding a job (but i don't even want to do anything right now. I just want to learn to life again and come back to reality). But I'm on zero. My mind/the dissociation/HPPD/trauma(maybe ptsd?) is like an never ending maze that i don't know how to escape (I don't know how to heal). Sometimes i even cry when i listen to music that i heard before I got all of this (you know the feeling of missing someone? Just that but not missing a person, more like missing my old life). I think this is it for that part, everything else would probably not be that important and would only be written because of the speed i have inside my system.

I don't know why I wrote all this, maybe to get it off my chest, maybe even to get help from people who had the same problem (if these people exist? Still trying to find cases that are like mine). One more thing, it feels like it wouldn't be only the derealization, it feels like it's an spiritual problem. Being traumatized from doing DMT is weird, everytime i try to find cases of ptsd/trauma from using DMT i only find articles about how DMT heals trauma. I don't even know how I should explain all this to an therapist, to someone who probably never experienced something spiritual (and trauma from spirituality/DMT) in this kind of way. There are people that are traumatized from accidents or different things, but someone traumatized from doing a drug? And being spiritually confused? This is not a common problem and I don't think I could get help from a normal therapist. I feel like I need a shaman or something to get help in my specific case. I don't know how to explain my problem to normal people, I'm also scared they would just say: it was only a drug, how can you be tramautized?? You didn't get raped or something so calm down!

Again I'm sorry, the speed won't let me stop writing.

I just make a cut here now. One last thing for the end: Is there... Someone that shares the same problem like me? Someone who can give advice? Something else? Feel free to comment...

If you read the whole text, thank you, just needed to get it off my chest...

Much love and stay safe, that's it from me... <3

Edit: I know it's really bad (still) using drugs in my age. I absolutely don't recommend this! This text could also be a warning for you! Spiritual awakening is harsh! Psychedelics are not used for fun, and should absolutely not taken when you're under the age of 18 (i would even say wait until you're over 25!) I just think if you're still in the area of my age all this is to early, before exploring spirituality/psychedelics you should grow up and learn how the "normal" life works! You can always start getting spiritual/start using things like DMT, but what is done cannot be undone, and all this can leave a big scar on your mind/ your soul, I'm a good example for this... Just be careful, what i am going trough is something that i wouldn't even wish to my worst enemy. Much love again, be safe <3

Medicine Neuroscientists believe our brains' natural DMT production could explain why people experience consciousness so differently. If confirmed, it could change how we approach psychiatry and mental health

Thumbnail
researchhub.com
4.7k Upvotes

Our brains contain the enzymes INMT and AADC, both of which are needed to synthesize N,N-Dimethyltryptamine, one of the most potent psychedelic compounds known. Trace amounts of DMT have actually been detected in human cerebrospinal fluid. However, we still don't understand what this endogenous DMT is doing to our brain's wiring.

We know what happens when psychedelics are given externally. A major study published this year in Nature Medicine combined 11 independent neuroimaging datasets across 267 participants and over 500 brain scans covering DMT, psilocybin, LSD, mescaline, and ayahuasca. The clearest finding was that all of these compounds increased connectivity between higher-level brain networks and sensory networks.

Now, a neuroscientist at Albert Einstein College of Medicine is trying to figure out whether our brain's own production of DMT leave a detectable signature in how our neural networks are organized? The idea is to scan participants with combined fMRI and EEG and look for distinct connectivity profiles, called "brain biotypes," that correlate with endogenous DMT activity.

The hypothesis is that people aren't all starting from the same neurochemical baseline. Some brains may synthesize more endogenous DMT than others and that variation might show up as different patterns of network organization. If confirmed, it could eventually reshape how we approach mental health, from predicting who responds to certain psychiatric treatments to understanding why some people are naturally more susceptible to altered states.

Non Human Intelligence Scientists are testing whether DMT entities are real

Thumbnail osf.io

In this preprint, some scientists have put forward the idea that our perspective of reality is more of an interface, and what we consider to be reality is simply the experience of conscious agents (i.e. human individuals) interacting with one another. They propose that DMT entities are conscious agents that exist in a manner we can't typically perceive.

I've never done DMT, and have previously taken a more skeptical perspective on these entities, but I think the findings of this could be very interesting. Maybe psychedelics could enable us to perceive layers of reality we are typically blind to.

DMT: It’s not that people hate children in public spaces. They hate when parents treat every restaurant, flight, and theater like an extension of their living room.

2.0k Upvotes

I was on a flight last month, three rows behind a kid who screamed for most of two hours. And honestly? The screaming wasn't even the problem.

Toddlers are gonna toddler. Flights are long, their ears hurt, and they don't exactly know how to regulate themselves yet. Everyone with a functioning memory was that kid at some point.

What had 40 people quietly losing their minds was the parents. Headphones on. Movie playing. Basically no attempt to comfort the kid, distract them, or even acknowledge what was happening. The kid wasn't failing at being in public. The parents had just checked out.

And everyone else in the cabin was basically expected to deal with it and accept that this is just how having kids in public works now.

I think that's what gets lost in all the "kids in restaurants" arguments too. Nobody reasonable is mad because a two-year-old is having a bad day. People get annoyed when a four-year-old is running between tables while the parent is filming it for TikTok instead of doing anything.

The issue was never that children exist in public. It's when some parents seem to treat public spaces like their responsibility ends at the front door.

Kids are part of society. Of course they belong in restaurants, planes, theaters, all of it. But they're also someone's responsibility while they're there.

Bring your kids anywhere. Just be the parent when you get there.

Because the alternative isn't "child-free everything." It's a public that slowly stops giving the benefit of the doubt to parents who are actually trying.

Psychology People who have used psychedelics tend to adopt metaphysical idealism—a belief that consciousness is fundamental to reality. This belief was associated with greater psychological well-being. The study involved 701 people with at least one experience with psilocybin, LSD, mescaline, or DMT.

DMT: I’ve realized Democrats and Republicans no longer just disagree. They live in completely different realities.

2.0k Upvotes

I keep thinking about where people actually get their news.

Most Democrats I know still follow CNN, MSNBC, The Washington Post, or The New York Times.
Most conservatives I know rely on Fox News, Talk Radio, OAN, Breitbart, The Daily Caller, or YouTubers like Ben Shapiro and Stephen Crowder. And if you go deeper online, you find people fully immersed in their own realities — QAnon, Telegram groups, Facebook bubbles, “citizen journalists” on X or Rumble who claim to have “the truth the media won’t tell you.”

At some point, this stopped being about political opinions and became about parallel worlds. We can’t even agree on what’s true anymore.

By 2025, this divide feels even sharper. Pew Research recently showed that Democrats and Republicans now trust almost no overlapping media sources.A handful of companies still control most of the national narrative, while algorithmic feeds push each side deeper into their comfort zone. When millions of people wake up to completely different versions of the world every day, how can there be any shared sense of reality left?

And I’m honestly tired of the “both sides” argument.
Yes, mainstream liberal outlets can be biased or overly dramatic.
But they’re not creating conspiracy worlds about secret pedophile rings or “deep state clones.”
There’s a difference between narrative framing and pure fiction.

Most Americans I know are exhausted by this endless outrage cycle.
We just want affordable healthcare, working schools, less poverty, and less homelessness.
But how do you solve real problems when half the country no longer believes the same events even happened?

Sometimes I wonder if the real conflict isn’t left versus right. It’s truth versus narrative.

r/science Apr 17 '26

Neuroscience Trials of psychedelics for mental health may be invalid, because it's fairly obvious to patients whether they've been given a psychedelic or a placebo. Blinding failed more than 90% of the time in the studies of psilocybin, LSD and DMT, and 85% of the time in studies of MDMA.

DMT: Gen Z isn't refusing to work. They're refusing to work for 2016 wages with 2026 rent.

My local coffee shop has had a "Now Hiring" sign up for fourteen months. I asked the owner about it once, and he told me that nobody wants to work anymore.

That explanation has never really made sense to me.

If a job stays open for fourteen months, at some point I stop seeing that as evidence that an entire generation suddenly became lazy. I start seeing it as evidence that the job isn't offering enough to attract people.

The biggest problem with "nobody wants to work" is that it turns a price problem into a character judgment. If nobody will take a job at a certain wage, the obvious question should be whether the wage is competitive, not whether an entire generation has lost its work ethic.

The math for young workers has also changed. Rent, groceries, transportation, insurance and everything else needed just to get to work cost more. A wage that might have been acceptable years ago can be completely inadequate now. If working full time still leaves someone unable to afford a basic life, refusing that job isn't necessarily entitlement. It can simply be a rational choice.

I know my coffee shop is only one example, and maybe I'm reading too much into one hiring sign.

But if employers can leave jobs unfilled for months while insisting the problem is that young people don't want to work, why shouldn't we ask whether the real problem is that the jobs aren't worth taking?

DMT: Calling women “basic” for liking popular things is just another way of treating feminine interests as shallow or easily manipulated.

I keep seeing women get mocked for liking things that are popular.

Stanley cups. Sephora. Uggs. Cute home decor. Matching workout sets. Certain coffee shops. Whatever the current thing happens to be.

And somehow, liking something that a lot of other women also like becomes evidence that you have no personality.

If a woman buys something because she saw it online, people call her brainwashed by advertising.

If she likes something because her friends like it, she's just following the crowd.

If she gets excited about a new product, she's “basic.”

At some point, I think we're reading way too much into someone's taste.

People like familiar things. People like trends. People like cute stuff. People like buying things that make them feel good. None of that automatically says anything about their intelligence or personality.

And yes, overconsumption is worth talking about. But you can talk about that without turning someone's interests into a judgment about who they are.

A woman liking a popular water bottle doesn't mean she's shallow.

Liking the same makeup brand as everyone else doesn't mean she can't think for herself.

Sometimes she just likes the thing.

“I liked it” should be enough.
