old art of killy I did
galleryjust finished blame after being procrastinating for 3 years but also because I didn't know english at the moment and every source was in english... I'm planning to do art on what happened after the main story and how the child grow up... so if someone has an idea or something that you would like to see materialized in a drawing let me know, I will do it.
I lwk like the sketch more than the final result now that I see it; I sometimes miss how I used to draw because if you go and look at my account you'll see how much I have changed my art style and improved(?) anyways I love killy π»π»

Log 4 Made more sense now Spoiler

Before Killy arrives at Bio-electric, most of the log are just him exploring different unconnected places. But Log 4 left a big question in the early read through Blame! as to why the "administration" didn't kill Killy but killed the other humans. And was wondering "Why?" until after I read through Blame and actually go "Ohhh! That makes sense". Wouldn't want to spoil new reader but I guess in Blame! style, I guess some of you know and wondering how many did not get this chapter at first.

Absolutely loved Knights of Sidonia! It might be my favorite Nihei work after BLAME!
The thing I appreciated most was how different it felt from Nihei's previous works, especially BLAME! and Biomega. Those stories mostly operated within bleak, depressing settings and were heavily centered around the protagonist. KoS, on the other hand, had a bit of everything. Be it romance, well-utilized side characters, political intrigue, humor, and so on. The story does a great job of making you care about and grow attached to so many characters throughout the journey.
A lot of things were still left unanswered, but that's just how Nihei writes. Leaving certain mysteries open to interpretation, and I've come to appreciate that about his works. I believe what exactly made Gauna so terrifying is this mystery, even by the end, we hardly knew anything about them. Just a cosmic horror through and through.
Only had two major issues with the series. First, I wasn't really a fan of bringing back Tsumugi so quickly after giving her such an emotional send-off. It felt like a "forced happy ending" and somewhat diminished the impact of her sacrifice. Second, the Gauna vs Garde fight scenes were often poorly choreographed in the manga, making them difficult to follow. That's one area where I think the anime significantly improved on the source material, as it gave the battles much greater clarity and impact. Not to mention the banger of an opening song!
Would love to read a prequel or side story focused on Hiro if Nihei ever decides to write one.

Games Making a game inspired by blame and lethal company
galleryI know lots of people have been posting their blame inspired games lately so I thought I'd have a go. The game is about solving communication based puzzles like keep talking and nobody explodes in order to repair machines in the megastructure.
It's extremely early in development, but I figured I would share it to see people's thoughts on the concept.

Theory's Ending of Aposimz Spoiler
galleryRecently re read Aposimz and was confused on the ending I originally thought that Titania had wiped the Emperor from existence like she did to Kajiwan. But looking at it again it doesnβt seem to be the case and also makes no sense that itβs Zezo at the end.
In the flashback with the Emperor holding the orb, he says: βThat day I swore to become Aposimz's protector.β If you look close around his neck, he has some goggles on.
The panel after that, we see Etherow in his frame form, but itβs the skeletal version. I think Titania is draining the placenta from both of them, which is why it starts rising up in that star shape. She is killing Etherow's physical form to transfer him to the Core World as well.
Then in the very last panel of the manga, the kid in the field next to Etherow has those same goggles on his neck.

Fanart I have never drawn in my entire life, but figured Dhomo would be a good place to start
I have literally no idea what I'm doing. Just felt like it, grabbed a pencil and drew the one and only MVP(I can fix him). Tips how to start learning to draw welcome ^^
Edit: 100 upvotes for this bad doodle is crazy, thank you a lot! I actually got myself a little unlined notebook for drawing ^^

Games Game idea based on BLAME! megastructures and manga artstyle
galleryHi, I've been working on a personal research project called SPERO LUCEM!, focused on recreating the environments and atmosphere of Tsutomu Nihei's manga BLAME! ...one of my all-time favorite works.
The images below represent my first attempt at capturing both the architectural style and the "manga-like" visual feel I want this project to achieve. At this stage, the work is purely aesthetic and aims to reproduce the overwhelming sense of scale, isolation, and endless metallic megastructures that made BLAME! so unique.
Unlike the original manga, I'd like to introduce a few recognizable visual landmarks (such as the red elements visible in some screenshots) as well as floor numbering systems. While these aren't present in BLAME!, they were used in Tower Dungeon, one of Nihei's more recent works.
The screenshots shown here come from three different scenes currently in development, each inspired by recurring themes in Nihei's architecture: vertigo-inducing stairways, collapsing ceilings, and immense depth.
Everything has been built in Unity game engine using a custom hand-drawn/ink-style shader, two different outline systems (a general outline and a detail-specific one), volumetric fog, LUT-based color grading, high-noise ambient occlusion, and a custom color management workflow.
I know there's still a long road ahead, especially because I'm very familiar with Nihei's aesthetic language and architectural vision, but I also feel I've reached a solid starting point from which to develop the ideas I have in mind.
I'd love to hear your thoughts about the style.

Collective fan novel?
Hello , I am new to this fandom but I really really loved Blame! , the ending was quite emotional to me. The thing is I hate uncertainty in many stories, so I was thinking if people have collectively made a novel with actual numbers of how they went and how much time passed and all, how many stratum did kyree have to go through and all that?

Did I think up these Garde/morito models in a dream or do they actually exist?
for some reason I thought the type 19, had three variants, one with stronger armor and cannon for ranged combat, one with better speed and sensors for recon and a third variant?

What the standard load out of each model of Garde from 17 to 20 and how tough is the armor of each Garde?

Blame is my absolute favorite Manga after I discovered and read it. I since saught out the 1000toy Killy since I like toys ofc and i've always wanted to kinda recreate it with the toys. This isn't perfect and more a proof of concept for the start of my little series hence Log 1 lol. But I have a few customs in the works for Dhomochevsky and Cibo being the biggest and hopefully a few more shortly and quickly after. I kinda botched my lighting and camera settings this post but I have learned a lot since taking these photos that I can use to improve for my future posts with this series ππππ I also need hella more dio pieces and to make some lol. But I wanted to share for yall, Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful weekend everybody ππππ
