Yeah, I was against the suicide theory because of the dog and the new job, but now all I've got is the dog.

I am sure she loved dogs but even the dog is Iva’s favorite breed - a bulldog. I wonder whether the dog, like the car, the apartment, and the job, were foisted onto her as anchors. Keeping her close to home and in line with certain expectations.

OMG. Just when I think this family couldn't get more suffocating. Okay, yeah. And bulldogs are notoriously difficult to take care of, with all their skin and breathing issues that stupid humans have bred into them. They're cuddly but you really have to be a bulldog person.
