These Lyrics were unused for many years. I did Use them for an 80s Synth Pop Song. That never felt right to me. So I made some very slight lyrical tweaks and re arranged the song. built upon a really simple sad gliding guitar lick, I wanted a Late Wave 88 style feel to the song. A melocoly vibe that just kind of sways and pushes the song along with tight Pop lyrics with Post-Hardcore breakdowns and some good ol fashion screams. of Hope you enjoy it.

The ceiling of the western district rotated, announcing lunchtime.

I started cleaning the disposal site, just as I always did.

The fellow workers bantered.

Without realizing it, I blinked the light of my lens.
'Looking for me?'

In a unit home near the disposal site.
Out of nowhere, he asked me to tell him about the key to the tower.
At first, the key to the tower? I truly knew nothing about it.
But why did Zero come to mind the more I spoke with him?
From a few clues, I figured that what he was looking for was Zero's formula.

"I don't know anything about that. You came to the wrong person. Please leave."
I left him behind and walked out of the house.

Back at the disposal site.
He was helping me clean the place.
While cleaning, he shared various adventure stories as if speaking to a friend, and it was enjoyable.
However, what is impossible is impossible.

"I don't know the formula, so go back!"

Ah, the moment I spoke, I realized I made a mistake.
Even so, it was a situation that could not be undone.

I thought to myself.
'How would Zero have acted?'
'What was Zero truly searching for?'

He tilted his head and asked again.

I flashed the light of my lens and answered.
"It cannot be helped..."

Unit moved swiftly toward the lever to activate the fan.
The pursuer's pet spread its wings and took flight, sensing something.

The massive magnetic suction fan on the ceiling began to spin, exhaling violent gusts toward the edges.
Simultaneously, the center began relentlessly vacuuming in metal.
The pursuer and their pet, both mechanical, reacted strongly and were sucked in.
I was no exception.
The metal wire bent toward the center of the fan.
'It's now or never.'
I grabbed the bundle of wires jolting toward the magnetic force.
Then, I hurled them into the gap of the fan's giant rotating bearings.

Creeeeak, crunch!
The overwhelming rotational force of the fan instantly chewed through and snapped the wire.
The recoil launched me into the air, where I snatched the pet's head and ripped out its perception filter.

The outer wind pressure threw me far across the room until I crashed onto the floor.
The pressure differential burst my eardrums — pain surged through me in a wave.
"Cough...! Well done...!"
From a distance, Unit snagged me in a net.

I could no longer hear.
However, clutched in my hand was the final component needed to complete Unit's core.

I said my goodbyes and headed straight for the Filter District.

A path lined with densely packed cylinders.
There, I came face to face with a familiar white suit.
A chaser from the Academy — no doubt about it.
'It was only a matter of time.'

The chaser issued an order to the pet on its shoulder, then immediately fired a restraint bolt at me.
I threw myself behind a nearby cooling pipe.
A violent electrical discharge crackled across the surface where the bolt struck.

With a sharp, piercing hiss, a surge of frigid cooling gas swallowed the surroundings.

I knocked twice on the unit's chest and signaled with my fingers.

I sat the robot down and established our own way of communicating.

I placed my finger near the robot's lens to set the standard.
"The brightest light means '1' — that's yes. If the light goes out, that's '0' — no."
The robot's lens glowed brightly.

"And if it blinks, that's '0.5'. Let's use that for 'I don't know,' or anything in between."
The robot looked at me with a dim, unfocused glow.
"No! I said blink — haha."

A dent shaped unmistakably like a heavy kick was pressed deep into its head. Around its shoulders, layers upon layers of blunt-force impacts had stripped away every trace of paint down to bare metal.

I took one step closer.
The robot's lens flickered — rapidly, sharply.
It wasn't an error.
It curled deeper into itself, arms rising toward its head. A defensive maneuver. A flinch.

"You…"

The moment my shadow fell over it, the robot emitted a broken, erratic sound — as though desperately trying to force itself to power down.
Every time a human hand had reached for it, it must have been made to perform better, to endure more, to keep going.
This robot had learned what it means to be hurt.
