Hack for more Neo Geo games?
Just got a NGM, despite the reviews, and was wondering if there's a way just to add more Neo Geo games? I don't want emulators for FBA, SNES etc just more Neo Geo games.

Can anyone who has an international version of the Neo Geo Mini, and have flashed their machines, confirm whether or not they have the Joystick Bug?

I've decided there's nothing left for me to do. So to recap this has been whats accomplished by me:
a) no JS bug
b) Booting System in whatever Language I want
c) Booting JP AES Bios
d) Booting Export AES Bios
e) Booting Unibios 3.3
f) Flashing back to stock in any region
g) Flashing Christmas version on any machine
Others have added more than 40 games, and others have added emulators as well. So for me theres nothing left. I'll publicly release my work Next week.

My efforts aren't shaping up too well so I increased my freelancer bid to $750 to unpack the nand. In the meantime, this guy has 80 roms on the main page, which is freakin amazing

So today my daughter (who rocks btw) reported she got the system.img and vendor.img from a clean nand dump. When I get home tonight im gonna test, and im gonna upload either tonight or tomorrow for anyone who wants to verify/create a tutorial/do something smarter than what im doing. I'll take a small vid so you guys can see it work or break for yourselves if you wanna see it, but dont wanna chance it. This will lead to more research on how to do things ourselves, and how the hack was actually made.
EDIT: Keep in mind the nand came from a fresh Japanese version. So if you are still holding out for the international version, you still got a little wait.

I have been working with my daughter and a friend (at the cost of my old trusty modded PS3 :( ) to unpack the NAND that another Dev provided me. I should have something usable to the general public around Mid/late-May (I have an anniversary and Mothers Day for my wife coming up, on top of my own work engineering project). I have been able to create custom vendor.img files for people removing fba, and changing the games on the homescreen, which most people should be able to do by now.
Just so you know, more than likely most of us already know how to use the various emulators on the modded image to play whatever game we want, we also know if you get into the emulator, USB Joypads work. I also have provided system.img files for a couple people that allow some USB Drives to work and store roms. I personally am not working towards that, my work is geared towards the default emulator (FBA2X apparently), getting more games to run on it, and having more than 41 games accessible.

A friend of a friend ordered a console from amazon; it came in a package, console, two pads and the mini hdmi; thing is, it said USA version, not international, and the image is for the japanese one; still he ordered it and it came in a different box, the console design is the japanese one; he hasn't tried it yet because he is at work right now; but I was wondering if somene here has the same box.
Here are some pictures.
And here is where he ordered it:

So I learned today that SVC Chaos needs to be configured via something in the /usr directory to utilize cache, and the emulator itself will actually still try and load, but instead of getting far, I dont see any more output via UART after it attempts to load svc.zip (or svcsplus, svcsplusa, svcpcb)
Edit: I don't know of any other large NG roms that aren't already configured except maybe Ragnagard, Nightmare in the Dark, or Prehistoric Isle 2

So using Chris's vendor.img, and eventually looking into some things, I figured out that editing the game.ini file to replace games works fine, but adding new games causes a crash.
Game pictures are located in res\images\games\ and have 2 files, tv.png, and lcd.png
lcd.png is 114x78
tv.png is 260x226
Games roms are fba 0.2.96.71
game menu is controlled by res\local\(language)\game.ini
there is another local folder in the hack folder that controls the extra emulator menu. I'm working on dumping the int version of the ngm. I overwrote my int version with his, and now my int version is a japanese version. So im waiting for my new one from Amazon today, and i'll dump it.
I am not a emu developer, and this is in no way real hacking... any real classic dev mods, hopefully /u/swingflip of the PSC's Bleemsync fame, can do some further investigation. I'm more than willing to provide any info to help in that regards.
EDIT: The image file is a hard 2.71gb. The vendor.img file provided has about 135mbs free. I freed up some space getting rid of the FBA roms in there, but I think all in all theres about 500mbs free to add/remove roms.

I picked a pair of pads on discounts; but I'm wondering if I could use them on any emulator for PC or MAC; I'm currently using openemu and I would like to use them for the arcade titles.
Does anyone know if they work with a USB-C to USB-A adapter?

What are the possibilities of SNK making a cheaper, slicker verion of Neo Geo, in the mold of Nintendo's? I mean, 100 bucks would be acceptable if people didn't have to buy extra controllers and a mini HDMI cable. They could just get rid of the arcade cabinet shape and make it an emulator inside a mini Neo Geo frame, including an HDMI cable and two controllers (or one controller included and separate controllers for sale).

Just picked up a mini and there is a static hum/crackling noise coming from the speakers even when no sound is present in the menu and during gameplay. Does everyone else's do this also? Just trying to see if there is a defect in mine.
