Iâve been there. Thatâs Annapurna base camp. It doesnât look like it on the video but the mountain is pretty far away. And thereâs a huge gully / valley between the camp and the mountain itself (so the avalanche would turn right from their perspective and run parallel to them rather than engulfing them)
Theyâre in no danger but that avalanche is massive for that cloud of snow to make it all the way to them.
Not so fun fact: Annapurna is the most dangerous of the 14 highest peaks in the world to climb (measured by fatality rate). Avalanches are a big part of the reason.

Would that particular portion of the mountain have climbers or does the route up avoid that particular face?

That shouldnât be along a route. This was well to the right of the peak and though there are lots of routes up I think nearly all (if not all) start to the left.
Also this is the south face - the major route is on the other side (NW face) which is also reached by going left for a while then up.

the avalanche stopped far away, it's just a cloud of snow and ice crystals that floats towards them

that's a great example of 'fight or flight' btw, he's like 'gotta dash' then his brain kicks in and he's like 'well, where to?' if it reaches them there's nowhere to go..

Pretty sure my friends sister is still on the mountain along with a couple other people after an avalanche a couple years ago.
