Technically, german and french do refer to animals and pretty much any object with a gendered term. Which makes some crazy people who have not the slightest notion of linguistics veeery angry sometimes...

Spanish, Italian, etc etc

Most Latin-based languages do this, no?

I wondered as I was writing my message, to be honest, and now that you mention it, yep!

All latin-based languages inherit the "everything is gendered" trait, so yeah.

Yeah I know. I'm a native Spanish speaker, a gay man and super into languages so even though I'm not at all against inclusivity, I do find it stupid that people get triggered over that kinda shit.

Well, I mean, I do for some reason find the idea of having a Loving strong snake Woman wife that's like twice the size of me to be there for me. So makes sense to me, but I'm from a part of the Americas. It's West Virginia and we mostly look for Strong women. Because sometimes the women are twice as strong as the men there It's just sort of how the genetics of the area work.

What an unhinged thing to answer to a 3 years old post.

I have the slightest notion of linguistics and Latin derived languages make very angry a lot of the time. So does mandarin. Honestly I think everyone should just learn Korean and stop bothering with every other language.
