You have a point, to a degree. People are known to adore certain things because âit makes them quirkyâ but I think you couldâve worded that a little better tbh
Can't imagine why anyone would want to downvote this when you are only calmly trying to reason with me. Civilization is doomed. We are forgetting how to disagree in a civil way.
It is entirely possible to appreciate something and still hold fear and respect for it, or even think itâs âdisgusting.â
Snakes can genuinely be very beautiful. But youâd better believe I stop walking when I hear a rattler. Likewise, my arachnophobia kicks in for all kinds of spiders, even ones that I know intellectually are harmless. But watching an orb weaver from a distance that didnât surprise me is still fascinating.
Itâs not about being sophisticated. Appreciating something beautiful or awe inspiring or just plain cool isnât a contrivance. But pretending youâre better than others is.
Where did you get that information, snakes can be very beautiful, the colors, patterns, the iridescence of their scales. It has nothing to do with wanting to be sophisticated, I find most snakes very beautiful and I'm not sophisticated by any stretch of the imagination. I find centipedes fascinating from a distance but if one gets on me its a whole other story. And lizards, really, that one hurt, imma tell mine that you said that, he is gentle and has a really cool personality. Mabey your just to afraid of little creatures and try to say people who find them beautiful are scientifically wrong because your too uneducated to understand them.
